Per Tom Herman, Zach Shackleford suffered a foot sprain and will be out this week. Kid can’t seem to avoid the injury bug. Rodriguez will slide to center and Kerstetter to right guard.

Patrick Hudson suffered a full body cramp and had to go to the hospital for recovery. He is fine now, but will also be out this week.

Brandon Jones suffered a high ankle sprain against Maryland and will be held out for Tulsa.

Herman said he expects both Kris Boyd and Davante Davis to be good to go.

that sucks for Shack.  I thought Kerstetter was working at C this summer.

What the hell is a full body cramp?  I dont think I've ever heard of that.

Who will start in Brandon's place at S?  Brown, Foster?

Also, does Johnson have sit out the first half of this game or did the 2nd half of last game count.  I forget the rule.

No he will be playing. It happened First half so he only had to sit out 2nd half of Maryland. Only have to miss the first half on next game when the targeting happens in 2nd half

Both Rodriguez and Kerstetter took reps at center.

It’s when the entire body locks up similar to when you get muscle cramps. It’s extremely painful and scary to see unfold.

Likely see more Foster in the game with Jones out, but having two true freshmen back there isn’t ideal so I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw some shuffling back there.

Johnson shouldn’t have to sit out any action since it occurred in the first half.

I don't know the how or why, but I have witnessed one at a paintball field and it's downright scary. We called 911 it freaked us out so badly.

Thanks for the info.

Brandon Jones ankle hurt on an uncalled horsecollar on that last punt return. That’s whole reason horsecollars are illegal. Don’t know how that wasn’t called. The refs left something to be desired last week.

You are correct. I'd bet most of us here didn't make that connection (I didn't). The other two calls I have an issue with are when Sam's helmet was jerked off from the back of his neck and the phantom fumble by Watson in the 4th.

high ankle sprain.....wasnt that what kept Shack out for almost a year? I fear those.

Its easier to heal a high ankle sprain on a player like Brandon Jones than some 300 lb'er like Shack.

I’ve had countless high ankle sprains playing sports. Some people is can be a reoccurring problem and some people bounce back quickly.

Jones will be ok.

Sometimes due to a very low potassium.
Most likely from severe dehydration and heat stroke. It’s called rhabdomylosis. It’s when there is an extreme amount of muscle breakdown that puts protein in the blood steam. These are large particles that can cause damage to the kidneys. This is why he needed to be rushed to the hospital and was in the ICU. Glad he was ok, people go into kidney failure and even die from this.

Rhabdo is no joke, I witnessed a women at my gym get it. Athletes with muscle mass are more prone to getting it. Dehydration with over physical assertions will cause muscle to Unload a dump truck of protein at once causing kidney failure. He isn’t going to be back for 2-3 weeks most likely.

this kid can’t catch a break.
