It's a private athletic training institute for youth. Essentially it's a college program. Florida State is already benefiting from this being in their backyard.

Look at the players enrolled. They are also looking to add a couple more stud HS players.

4* 80 Malik Barrow DE 6-1 252
4* 79 T.J. Chase Wr 6-2 180 Clemson
5* 52 Isaac Nauta TE 6-4 250 Fl.State
5* 16 Saivion Smith DB 6-2 175
5* 13 Malik Henry QB 6-2 175 Fl.State
5* 10 Rahshaun Smith DE 6-2 226
5* 7 Shavar Manuel DE 6-3 262

I view IMG Academy as what Deion Sanders had in mind for Prime Prep. He just didn't have the financial backing or the know-how.

These private schools really have a competitive advantage over the publics. How do they stock their roster with so much talent? High school "scholarships" and financial aid to talented, but disadvantaged youth? Surely these kids don't all come from affluent backgrounds.

Deion had the finacial backing, trust me. But this is Texas and TEA, UIL folks are very strict with some of the things you can get away with.

If that's the case, that's one of the few places I agree with the teachers' union.  High schools' sole focus should be on education, not athletics.  Athletics is great as a compliment for a schools academic mission (teamwork, fitness, etc), but it should never come before it.  At least to me, an athletic scholarship sends the wrong message.
