I'd be fine with Applewhite as OC at this point

Seriously. it's been the sentiment for sometime that his hands were tied by Mack. Just see what he can do. He knows the program and probably knows best what's been wrong with it and would embrace a new culture and possibly thrive.

If his name was Smith would you feel the same?

Would he have ever merited being in the position?

Sentimentality is an impediment to improvement.

I'm not saying he's my choice. But I am saying I'd be happy with him over Watson from what I can tell. What would Major do with an OL and a QB? What would Watson do with our group and Case McCoy?

Applewhite > watson
Basically what I'm getting at. Applewhite had nothing to work with and was OC for a team that almost won the Big 12. A team with a slew of injuries and a starting QB who - sorry - did not belong on a college roster.

applewhite had a lot to work with though.

When you start with nothing at OL and nothing at QB it really doesn't matter that we had good running backs and decent wide receivers.

By the way, I'm going to get behind whoever we hire. Definitely not hating on Watson.

Malcom Brown, J Gray, Joe Bergeron, Daje Johnson, Mike Davis, Jaxson Shipley, Kendall Sanders and Marcus Johnson . . ..

Nothing to work with? That's more skill position talent than most teams in America. . ..but granted. ..he was handicaped a bit at QB . ..which begs the question. . .why move Tyrone Swoopes into the #2 spot after spring drills instead of Conner Brewer?

Who's mistake was that?

As far as "mack meddling". . . .I think this is largely nonsense. . .Mack's a CEO coach not a hands on coach. . .pick one bitch or the other but you cannot argue both. . .

If in fact it is Watson. ..he should be judged on the field not in the court of knee jerk public opinion. . .

Please no Applewhite....just get us a OC and the rest of the O position coaches

He would know against Baylor and Oregon that you lean HEAVILY on a productive and effective Malcolm Brown! There's no way that Watson isn't better than Major. Major has absolutely no rhyme or reason to his play-calling.

you seem a little pissed. the bitch i'm picking is that Mack has forever been criticized for meddling. Why did Harsin get the hell out so fast? You listed RB's and WR's which I already acknowledged were a talented bunch. You could have Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson and if your OL is nothing more than thin air and your QB is not as good as a few hundred highschool seniors it isn't going to matter.

I'm not knee jerking on Watson. He has a body of work. Based on that I'm not tremendously upbeat about him coming in. Will I support him 100% once he's hired? Yes I will. 100%.
