I feel like talking up Texas Volleyball!

It was like watching the tx ou football game with reverse order.. We did nothing right for 2 1/2 games. Then boom. Could do no wrong..

Nebraska has been playing well, and Texas has had some periods of playing a bit sloppy. Down 0-2 at the moment, got to pull off another reverse sweep. Not ideal.

Definitely a tough loss as a final four was pretty much the minimum expectation going into the playoffs for Texas.

Bottom line, several Nebraska girls played better than their season stats and several Texas girls did the opposite.

Nebraska used the same game plan that Kentucky did last year, hit over Gabriel (5'8") when she rotates up front. The price you pay for having a short setter. If you think I'm repeating myself, I am, I said this last year also. He subbed in Saige (#9, 6') for Gabriel and Texas made a nice run. I was hoping Jerritt would run a 6-2 (2 setters) with Gabriel setting when she rotated back vs the 5-1 (1 setter) but he loves the 5-1. Granted he's won a lot more games than I have in volleyball but with a short setter running a 5-1, that is your weakest link when she's up front.

Give Nebraska credit, they outplayed Texas and they showed while they're the #1 defensive team in the country. Be that said, Texas didn't help themselves. Texas had 14 service errors to 6 aces, that's a minus 8 points. It really hurt in set 2 where Texas had back to back SEs to end the set. Texas also had way too many serve receive errors (9) and bad passes from them. Every play starts with a pass and you have to make them count. These points were the difference in the game in my opinion.

One last note, the R1 made a horrible call (called a catch/prolonged contact) on Eggelston in the 4th set. That call turned the momentum and the ladies let that call effect their play for a bit afterwards. By the time they got their act together from that call, it was too late.

Good year over all. We need a tall setter to commit to Texas and soon!

Big X final, Wisconsin vs Nebraska. I think the Badgers will take the Corn.

Looking at Fields' stats and this is even more puzzling. She was 2nd on the team in kills (behind Eggleston) and 5th in blocks.

So either she wants to be a 6 positional player (i.e. play all the way around) or her boyfriend is CT and she wants to follow him or something happened in the locker room (think Lexi Sun).

I read somewhere that there was some discontent in the locker room
