I am old enough to have seen Earl Campbell run over his fellow student athletes and leave therm for dead.

Seeing this on TV was never really the same thing as seeing it live, up close and personal.

I was even at the game at Rice Stadium where he ran out of bounds and into Bevo -- that was something to see. They were both shocked. They looked at each other in the eye briefly (I always imagined with a sense of respect) then both calmly just went back to their jobs.
