So, turns out the drive from my house to Lawrence, KS, is only 7 hours. And this means only one thing: Who will I see in Lawrence for the Texas/Kansas game? Because I'm going.

Hook 'Em!

My son and I will be there. Driving from St. Louis area (I think it's a 6 hour drive for us). Would love to meet up with other Longhorn fans.

Awesome. I booked everything last night, bought tickets this morning. As the date approaches, we'll have to find out where everyone will be that day and get together. After the Notre Dame game (and having made it to two games last season) I had to make it to one more game this year. Looking forward to it. Hook 'Em!

I forgot to book my hotel. I'm glad you started this thread or else my son and I would've been out in the cold.

Farmer's Almanac says 60 degrees and sunshine for this game. Which, could in fact be the only game we win the rest of the year. Either way, I plan on plenty of beer and burnt orange and a Texas win. Almost three weeks away now. #HookEm

I'm still going. The one thing I hate is that they haven't announced the time for the game. Coming from 5 1/2 hours away, I had to make hotel reservations for 2 nights (Friday and Sat) and I'm going to miss one of my HS Basketball games. Luckily I'm the asst. HC so I'm not needed unless the HC gets 2 techs and gets kicked out. Getting excited. Haven't been to a Longhorn game in years and this will be my son's first that he will remember.

My wife, brother and sister-in-law are leaving Indianapolis at 10:30 p.m. Friday night. Likely to get a few naps in the car on a 2-awake-2-asleep shift rotation. haha. Hoping to hit Lawrence a little after dawn. We'll be Parking in lot 54, which I'm told is the $25 lot where you can tailgate out in front of your car. We'll keep in touch as the game draws near. Hook 'Em!

Finally announced the game start time of 2:30pm. My son and I are staying at a hotel 1 mile away so we will probably walk to the stadium. Looking forward to it.

Don't tell anyone, but my son wants to check out the Kansas campus so we're doing that on Friday. Hey, he has a great chance at getting full-ride academic scholarship there.

If your son decides to attend KU make sure he isn't like my two friends who went there. Both of these guys go ape shit over KU hoops and pretend they don't have a football team....well I guess that is debatable. They talk so much hoops trash it is intolerable.

He knows where his loyalty is. He will always be a Longhorn fan. I would love for him to go to UT, but a free education is hard to pass up.
