Today was the 1st day of fall practice. The players have been getting up early every morning and hitting the weight room up until now.

Quote from LHP Toller Boardman

First time to pitch against live hitters in just over a year. Feel like a kid on Christmas right now!
Texas will be hosting Sam Houston State on the 21st of October and the 28th of October Texas State will make a visit.

Almost two weeks ago I made the drive down to Houston to watch the PG WWBA South Qualifier- took in 6 games over two days. Saw some great young talent and was able to see some future Longhorns.

This is the Houston Banditos- with a roster stacked of major D1 talent. 2ndB Zane Gurwitz was on that roster, he will sign his LOI this November. If you click on each picture it will pop up and you can see who is in each picture

This is from the South Texas Sliders game on Sunday

The One Future Longhorn that I was really looking forward in seeing was RHP Blake Goins- Really like the make up of this young man!

Awesome stuff and awesome baseball youtube channel! I have been a Goins fan for a while now because he pitches at Pearland High School (which I see a lot of football and baseball games at). Still football season but I am extremely curious how the baseball team stacks up this year - particularly the pitching.

Love the Banditos team too. The 12U team won the National Youth Baseball Championship last year.....

I will be back in Houston the 1st week of April. The Pearland Baseball team should make a serious run for district and a deep run into the playoffs next spring. They are deep and talented with some great young talent.

With John Curtis out and Justin Peters still on crutches the young arms of Hollingsworth, Culbreth, Duke, and Helmink will be huge this fall and next spring. I will know more once the fall games are over with.

Wish I had this job.....

But he is stating the obvious here;

Kendall Rogers ‏@KendallRogersPG
#Texas fans are really going to like SS CJ Hinojosa. Smooth actions, good range, very good (easy) arm. Good as advertised. #Horns #UT

Kendall Rogers ‏@KendallRogersPG
Usual #Texas OF Cohl Walla sitting around 87-88 on the mound right now. Long, lanky, frame. Cam Cox was 88-90 for #Horns. #UT #Big12

#Texas Soph. LHP Dillon Peters sat 86-88 today. #Horns freshman RHP Holden Helmink sitting 90-91 FB. #UT #Big12
