Texas (17-12, 6-10 Big 12) vs. #19/20 Baylor (22-7, 10-6 Big 12)

Monday, March 2 – 6:00PM CST

The game will be televised on ESPNU

TEXAS-BAYLOR SERIES

  • Texas leads the all-time series, 160-84, but Baylor is 9-5 in the last 14 games against UT.

  • In the last meeting: Baylor won, 83-60 (Jan. 31, 2015; in Waco).

  • The Longhorns are 29-9 against the Bears during the Rick Barnes era.
TEXAS NOTES

  • When they host No. 19 Baylor on Monday, Texas will face their fifth consecutive AP Top 25 opponent. This marks the first time in program history that UT has played five straight against AP Top 25 foes.

  • Against Kansas on Saturday, Texas set a school single-game mark for most blocked shots (14). The Horns rank 1st nationally in blocks per game (7.6 bpg).

  • In Lawrence, Demarcus Holland set a season high with 15 points and Prince Ibeh tied his season high with 4 blocks.

  • Against the Jayhawks, Isaiah Taylor had eight assists against just two turnovers. Taylor also grabbed 6 rebounds in 34 minutes. Taylor is averaging 7.0 apg in the last three games.
BAYLOR NOTES

  • Baylor has won 4 consecutive conference games and is 6-4 vs. ranked teams this season.

  • The Bears have made at least 50% of their 3-point attempts in 3 straight Big 12 games.

  • Baylor’s +8.6 average rebound margin ranks 7th nationally. Included in that margin – BU is 4th with 15.0 offensive rpg and 5th with 39.9 total rpg.

  • Baylor was the only Division I team to hold every non-conference opponent to 66 or fewer points.

Baylor is not a good matchup for the Horns. If Texas is emotionally down from Saturday, Scott Drew and the Bears will light this team up without mercy.

OTOH, Texas is plenty capable of beating BU, especially at home. If the Horns play like they did Saturday, they'll win tonight.

From a team psychology standpoint, this is a fascinating week.
