High School Football Week 5

Just finished here. 52-24 Martin. Buechele was on the run all night and had some drops. He also shorted another sure TD pass. I talked to him after the game but he was pretty dejected after a loss to their rival. I opted to interview him next week when I'm back out here and he was very appreciative of that. Sorry I couldn't bring you guys anything tonight but I thought I'd build a little goodwill with him and let him off the hook he was more than willing to be on.

Do we have stats on Buechele?
Nothing official yet; over 200 yds and 1 TD
From what I can find, 214 yds passing, 3 yds rushing, 1 passing TD. Looks like he was something like 15/27 or 14/26. Not 100% certain from what I can find at this point. The box score only gave total pass completions and attempts as a team. Lamar had a backup in there it looks like.

If any of you guys have teams that you want to follow their scores, just let me know and I'll make sure to have those particular updates.

StreetToPeschel made a request last year and we had Boerne's updates more frequently posted. Java showed interest in Franklin this week, so I posted Franklin updates tonight.

We are here for you, man.

Thanks for the score SHA, not rubbing it in. Henderson is really good this year...we'll see how they do in their district.

Yes, they are. Wondering when they'll get ranked. Another team that is surprisingly good this year is Pittsburg. Keep an eye on them.

Gilmer – not feeling it this year. Struggled against LE which is no shame, but they squeaked by. Then gave up 19 to Pine Tree. Only scored 23 against Tatum in a down year. Then Daingerfield put up 27 despite not having their starting QB and two starting OL.

While Carthage isn't their usual powerful selves this year, tomorrow night's affair in Lobo Stadium (Longview) between Carthage and Gilmer should be a dandy.

Longview Lobos squeezed out a 61-6 win over Pine Tree, you know, in case anyone besides me cares. :)

I don't think Longview will be challenged in district 15. Texarkana might stay within two touchdowns of them, maybe.

Coach King wasn't supposed to have all that much this year, but he proved them wrong again.

SHA is the MVP on these threads

Yeah, our district isn't gonna do us any favors as far as getting ready for the playoffs. I think we go to Greenville next week and they lost to Mt. Pleasant last night and MP has sucked at football for the last several years.

The football team. It's often embarrassing for the other team when Franklin plays at their stadium. Franklin usually travels more fans than the home team puts on their side. Rain, cold, sleet, heat-it doesn't matter. They are there.

State track meet last year, I estimate there were at least 75 people in the stands supporting the Lions, and it was hot.

I saw Pitt's first game this year.  They have a new coaching staff and a move in QB.  The QB is an above average HS QB.  They have lots of seniors on the team and they are very physical.  A couple of big receivers as well as a strong defense.  The Pitt and LE game Oct 16th should be a good one.  And it is at Pitt too.

True, that game will tell us a lot about Pitt.

I did not expect Atlanta to hang with LE the way they did Friday night. That game went down to the wire. I'm wondering if LE is suffering from an injury bug. Nevertheless, Pitt will have to contend with a dandy little running back they have up there.

I played against the 1980 Pitt state champs. I have never been so physically beat up in my life as I was that next day.
