Franklin – will now face Crockett, another district 11-3A foe like Newton who finished second in that district to Newton. Crockett has improved since an earlier loss that set them back in 2nd place, but I still think Newton was the better team right now. Franklin wins 35-18

Predicting a Class 3A Div II Final Four of Idalou, Franklin, East Bernard and Waskom.

Franklin would face East Bernard next in that scenario.

I said in the preview of this round that if Franklin could get past Newton, they'd prove themselves legit.

Calallen – To be blunt, I think the end of their season comes this week when they face #1 Cedar Park. Calallen will not get to face an East Texas team as Cedar Park is a friggin scoring machine. Cedar Park has a sophomore QB that will be a 5-star by the time he's a senior. I hope Texas is keeping an eye on him.
