Hermann needs to go

I will just say there are others, but have you heard anything from Myer's camp?  Get my point?  Lots of water needs to flow under that bridge, yet.
Just playing devil's advocate here . . . why would you hear anything at all from Meyer's camp? What do you think that would look like? Tom Herman is still head coach at Texas yet Meyers is supposed to say something about taking the job of his former assistant? How would that make UT look, cheating on their spouse, so to speak?

No matter how you spin that, it's an incredibly awful look. Urban Meyer can't say ANYTHING at this point.

If anything, not hearing from Meyers is to be expected. If he had anything to say at all right now it would be to deny the rumors and say he's not interested . . . IF he were not interested.

You would be right.  I worded it wrong.  I should have said from his agent's camp.  Generally when their boy is being discussed is when they maneuver for favorable leverage ($).  It is the internet age and it always happens. Always.

I'm posting this article here. The article  is about the unraveling of Florida State football program. I am not up close like @doc longhorn and others are; rather, I am probably as close as a jet liner flying overhead. However I do see some possible similarities and lessons learned. Thoughts?

OT and I may have already posted this, but your comment reminded what I once heard.  Regarding the state lottery he said you had a better chance of getting hit by a wheel that fell off an airplane then winning it.

CBS Sports releases updated coaches hot seat rankings

START IMPROVING NOW: TOM HERMAN, TEXAS

247Sports’ take: Following back-to-back losses to TCU and Oklahoma, things weren’t looking good for Herman. The Longhorns have since pieced together four straight wins, including a road upset of then-No. 6 Oklahoma State. Herman’s program is still in contention for a Big 12 title, and that’s what they have their eye on. A tough home contest with Iowa State remains, as well has road games at Kansas State and Kansas.

CBS Sports: “As long as there is a chance Oklahoma's five-year stranglehold on the conference can be broken, Herman is safe. But if he loses once more between now and Dec. 19, all bets are off.”

It's the sec sec. They'll find a way to make it all go away.
Yeah, and state politicians and ESPN lobbyists will do their best to ensure it's covered up.

As a private, Baptist school, Baylor was a much easier target. Plus, it made for a more controversial story with the religious angle.

The lackadaisical approach came to a head on the practice field in December 2014, when Fisher ripped into his team in advance of a Rose Bowl showdown against Oregon. "They're going to blow y'all out if you all come to play how you've played all year," he screamed.
Shouldn't that be "us", Coach Fisher?

Jimbo let 'em coast all season, then wants to reign 'em in at the last minute. Good strategy

Lol. Meyer must want the TCU job. He was criticizing Patterson and his coaching.

Urban Meyer keeps sounding like a guy who wants to coach USC

kept telling you guys this but nobody wanted to listen...UM wants a couple of jobs to open, that way it gives he and his agent leverage and gets a bidding war started...its the Saban fiasco all over again...whoever is UM agent they know TEXAS has bid against themselves before because of their own ego and they will drive the market up if TH loses again, without UT the market is soft, if UT and Southern Cal show up at the same time the pot grows exponentially

Exactly, UM is in no hurry to commit unless we impose a deadline on him.

The opportunity to win another title in a new league must appeal to his ego. I can't imagine UM taking the Auburn job if it opens, not that it's a bad place. He's been there, done that in the SEC.
