Greatest athlete you've seen in person?

One name we don't hear enough of is Roosevelt Leaks. Rosie was greased lightning and was almost a preview of what would come with Earl. Rosie was awesome.

Java, one of our own here is married to a pretty famous gymnast. Shannon Kelley-Mary Lou Rhetton Kelley

Yep, I know.  I watched Mary Lou perform on TV.  She was stunning, and nails as a competitor.  I saw many of those who followed her in person.

Some of the girls I knew had t-shirts that read, if gymnastics were easy, it would be called football.  They had more than a little moxy.  They couldn't afford to take a day off for minor aches and pains, not enough time.  Those kids, and they are kids, are tough, really tough.

I'm going to take a little different take on this because I'm not sure I can separate the athletes in different sports. Here are a list of "athletes" that I hav or would pay to watch no matter what team they are on. This is definitely not all inclusive but just who came to mind.

Baseball: Pete Rose, Nolan Ryan, Ryne Sandberg, Tony Gwynn, Derek Jeter

Basketball: MJ, Larry, Wilt, Russel, Lebron, Magic, Kareem, Durrant

Hockey: Patrick Kane, Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, Bobby Hull

Football: Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, Dick Butkus, Payton Manning, Michael Irvin, Jerry Rice, Reggie White

Golf: Tiger, Jack, Lee Trevino, Rory, Arnie, Phil

3 good ones together
