We were discussing neutral site game locations the other day .. . .yes. . .generally speaking they are a negative. .

Having said that, here are the renditions of the Falcons new stadium in Hot-Lanta .. . .

Now this is unique. . . .

Love it! Roof represents wings on falcon. Similar design to Sydney Opera House but roof more angular and dramatic.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the existing Georgia Dome.  Does ATL intend to tear it down for the new building?

Interesting, but not certain that I am a fan.  The sun shining through the roof reminds me of the problems TV had with the old Cowboys' stadium.

That said it doesn't appear to be as sterile as Jerrah's masterpiece.

The new facility will literally be across the street from the current one. The old stadium will be demolished as part of the project and I am pretty sure that space will be used for parking.

i viewed this new prospective atlanta stadium rendering about a month ago.  this very modern / futuristic approach to viewing the game of football, shall catapult atlanta into the stratosphere.  atlanta, has long ago shed their approach to ultra conservatism in regards to building structures.  this is indeed one of the very reasons that this southern city is so very popular with conventioneers.  "just build it, and they shall come" and atlanta has no problem planning and building.

upon the time when houston was planning and constructing what was then reliant stadium, i had the sense back then.. that the stadium design was a bit to small and tight, not to mention a bit to conservative to remain upon the SUPER BOWL STADIUM rotation.  well, now it seems that i was indeed correct.  for in order for the city of houston to maintain their faltering status upon the SUPER BOWL rotation.. they damn near have to promise the SUN, MOON, and every freaking STAR imaginable.. in order to impress the SUPER BOWL committee.  everyone knows, that the only reason that we won it for the forthcoming SUPER BOWL 17, is because florida just wasn't prepared as per their old and antiquated stadium.

atlanta's new stadium, shall be designed and built as per the future.  and please believe that it shall be done right the very first time... WELL DONE ATLANTA!

I understand that this is a multi-use structure, but I still prefer watching football in a completely open air stadium.  A dome or semi-enclosed stadium just doesn't provide the same experience.  There's a certain bond you develop with the team when you have to sit out in a driving rain or 20 degree temps with the players.

So you were correct that Houston would fall out of Super Bowl consideration, yet they got one anyway.

How's that work again?

...it work's very easily by reading the complete post.  florida's bid would have defeated houston's bid, if houston wouldn't have had to promise the SUN, MOON, and every STAR imaginable.  (SB EL CENTRO to be held downtown - new state of the art jumbotrons - commitment to reshaping the aging / antiquated astrodome in time for the SB - brand new marriott marquis hotel downtown connected to GRB - transportation upgrades - other stadium upgrades - NRG Park upgrades - airport upgrades - etc...)

Ok now I get it. Super winning bids include stuff.

C'mon monarch. There were 30 other stadiums. They didn't pick rice stadium.

Your declaration of victory is like a weatherman saying ' I predict rain' and it not raining and declaring ""I was correct because there were no clouds'.

Enjoy your correct prediction of Houston NOT getting a Super Bowl nonetheless.

Hey, just having fun at the whole 'I said Houston wouldn't get a Super Bowl again, they got one but of of course I was correct'. I like your method of scorekeeping.

Perhaps I'm too literal in these matters.
