A day after UT's point guard confirmed he is staying for another season the team got some more good news. 6'10 center Cameron Ridley reaffirmed his commitment and will sign in mid-April. There was some concern when Ridley didn't sign with the other 4 member of the 2012 class in November.
Ridley is number 8 on ESPN top 100 and is the nations second best center according to Rival.Com. He will join three others in the ESPN top 100. He will be joined by San Antonio Churchill forward Connor Lammert is listed at No. 89 with New Orleans St. Augustine point guard Javan Felix at No. 72, right behind another 6-foot-10 center in Garland Naaman Forest product, the No. 71-rated prospect in the country. Rounding out this year's Texas recruiting class is Melbourne Florida Air Academy forward Ioannis Papapetrou.
Keeping Mycy Kabongo was key to this upcoming season and Texas awaits news on J'Covan Brown's decision to leave or stay for his senior season. Ridley will make it four years in a row that a Texas commit will participate in the McDonald's All-American Game. Before Kabongo played in 2011's prestigious contest, forward Tristan Thompson was a McDonald's All-American in 2010 and guard Avery Bradley was named a McDonald's All-American in 2009.
