A friend who has some connections (he's not on this BBS or Ketch's site) mentioned that he heard Augie was being removed.  Can anyone confirm this or have there been any rumors floating around concerning him being forced out?

This would be news to me.

Everything in Burnt Ends has indicated that Bellmont is letting Garrido decide about his future. This would go against that.

Pretty much, Matt. I see him back for another season this next year as well. He is one game shy of 800 Ws, he likes the makeup of the team for next year and wants to go out in a positive way. Many won't like that, but quite frankly, it is not up to anyone here or elsewhere in the message board/fan world.

Let the bitching commence. ;)

I think Augie has earned the privilege of coaching another year, if he chooses.

Hook 'em!

And last year we were back in Omaha...

sigh...

Hook 'em!

bitchin' and moanin' just bichin' an moanin'...

They say exercise helps.

The amount of people that want Augie fired is laughable. He finished 3rd in the country last year and is second in CWS appearances in the past 7 years. Not to mention he's already won 2 titles at Texas. Might as well try and hire Joe Torre.

That's an interesting stat, bomb. Are you sure that's right? I mean, really, really, sure?

Hook 'em!

I really liked the way you phrased your first response, NTG. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Garrido is a legend, and I believe one of the greatest college coaches to ever coach. At a certain point every coach must hang 'em up, but I believe there were justifiable reasons for our slide this year.

I won't itemize the reasons, but I believe they were legitimate and beyond Augie's control.

Like I've said before, just because you agree with me doesn't mean you're smart and just because you disagree with me doesn't mean you're stupid.

Patterson has left the decision up to Augie for next season. Financially it benefits Augie to stay and coach - if money is a factor.
