Game Thread: Texas Longhorns @ #16 Baylor Bears

I have become totally ambivalent about this team. I hate to say it but one player cost the team the game.

Go Roadrunners!

It seems the enthusiasm is wailing if judging the number of posts per game thread over years.  We used to hit 20+ pages during the game if I remember correctly.  Here lately it’s like 5
And 3 of those are mine ?

national champs in rowing. believe it or not currently Big12 soccer champs. Swimming/Diving school.

Pretty much every sport at Texas is doing very well except football
The only one that matters. The only one the Big Cigars can't keep their hands off of.

Believe me I know exactly what you're saying.  We said it with Strong and we said it with Herman.  However, that didn't work out with those two, but we have to keep saying it until it gets right.  Nothing else to do. We can't keep changing coaches at the sign of not meeting our expectations.  It just takes time.

In regards to the play calling, you can't tell me we have a guy that called masterful plays at Alabama and helped lead them to a NC to only come here and forget how to do that. He had the players that made the plays at Bama.  He had the OL at Bama that gave time for those plays to develop.  That OL coach was the best in the business and consistently put players in the NFL.  Did he all of sudden forget how to coach OL because this group is subpar?  I don't think so.  At some point it is about the talent and the mental aspect.
It is mind boggling isn’t it.  The culture talk was we were soft when Charlie came in.  In the end there is a mindset issue with this school.  I do agree we have no choice but to let it play out.  Sarks demeanor has changed over the last 2 games.  He was cool and collective it appears to be changing now to frustration.  Remember the classic looks on Charlie’s face after losses.  So I wonder who will break first the coach or the players mindset.

The last time I saw a team blow leads like this one was aggy in 2011 and we know what happened a year later. We can only hope.

The defense bailed out the offense all day. Got the 2 turnovers. Held a ranked team with good stats to 31.

I get it, we're all upset, numb or whatever by the lack of production by this team this year. I guess I'm just more patient thatn most.  I'm having a hard time finding first year head coaches (not named Day or Riley) that didn't have a mediocre 1st year, but got it going in year 2.  Look at Mel Tucker and Aranda.  Both won 2 games each last year and have turned it around in year 2.  I would bet the % of successful 1st year head coaches is very, very low. If this team is still where they are at this time next year, then we can have serious conversations about this not working.  Thank goodness i started to learn golf this last year.

I said the other day and I still say……I don’t know what it would take to win at Texas.  It’s just been going on for so long.

The players simply didnt make the plays this game.  I counted three bad plays that should have been TDs.

Seriously, Casey jumping in the air for no reason in order to throw a rainbow pass out of bounds to a wide open Worthy.  Moore had several drops one for a TD and another critical first down in 4th. Casey just had a bad game... sometimes he just needs to run for the 1t down instead of throwing across his body. His footwork is still bad.

I don't think Casey had that bad of a day. Yes he did have a couple of bad throws, but he is the best option at this time.
