Game Thread: Texas Longhorns @ #16 Baylor Bears

So many dropped passes by our guys.  I figured this was a loss anyways but this shit is getting tiresome.  Year after year.  We always talk talent etc but What are Baylor’s recruiting ranking the last 3 years?

24 points is not enough to win. We don't seem to have a Turbo button or any plan to pick up the pace. Without a int. we score 17. Offensive mastermind huh?

 I disagree. The coach is paramount, especially the play calling. Let's see what we get. We haven't seen hurry up yet...

I don't disagree with the coach being paramount at all.  The players have to make the plays. Every new coach needs time to change a culture.  These are the same dropped balls last year and the year before.  The Oline is not good at all.  Coaching does help, but you can't get blood out of a turnip (don't ask, my father's old saying).  The play calling has been there at least this game and put them in position.  The players have to make the plays.  Casey included.  Multiple times this game a WR has been open and Thompson didn't see him.  Losing like this 3 weeks in a row is completely mental and toughness.  Hopefully this is a good sign in taking their lumps in year one.  We as a fan base just don't have patience.

I hope Sark can hold on to the recruits and we need to work the portal. Two offensive linemen, two receivers (if u can find them), anybody on defense.  Aranda made his team better in his second year.

We seem to just go with the flow, hoping it will work out. I saw no all gas. 2 direct snaps to Roshon both worked, but we don't go back to it. Bijan for 43 yds. is a failure to use his talent properly. KRob plays 1 play. Casey runs wild on accident twice but never on purpose when we needed it. Some bubble screen we've never seen is our secret weapon with 2 minutes to go? The play calling sucked.

I'm sick of blaming the players talent, physical conditioning and mental toughness. The coach sucked.

You do realize it’s been over a decade since we have been relevant right?  So the now word doesn’t exactly fit in.  Not that I disagree with changing the culture and getting his guys in but this is the same ole crutch excuse from Charlie to tommy boy over the past 11 years

No timeouts with the game on the line. Worst possession of the game with 4 and out for zero yards when we need it most. Blew another double digit lead. 3rd loss in a row 1st time since Charlie in 2016 that cost him his job. Never used the hurry up all season so sucked at it when we needed it. More pain coming next week.

Believe me I know exactly what you're saying.  We said it with Strong and we said it with Herman.  However, that didn't work out with those two, but we have to keep saying it until it gets right.  Nothing else to do. We can't keep changing coaches at the sign of not meeting our expectations.  It just takes time. 

In regards to the play calling, you can't tell me we have a guy that called masterful plays at Alabama and helped lead them to a NC to only come here and forget how to do that. He had the players that made the plays at Bama.  He had the OL at Bama that gave time for those plays to develop.  That OL coach was the best in the business and consistently put players in the NFL.  Did he all of sudden forget how to coach OL because this group is subpar?  I don't think so.  At some point it is about the talent and the mental aspect.

It seems the enthusiasm is wailing if judging the number of posts per game thread over years.  We used to hit 20+ pages during the game if I remember correctly.  Here lately it’s like 5

Ladies, gentlemen and troll,

Texas is not going to get any close calls this year. I'm surprised they got the 1 penalty (see a trend?) in this game. The Big XII is doing what the SWC did to Arkansas when they left. 

Be that said, Texas had plenty of chances to win this game. If called by a coach, whoever called the fake punt needs to step back and make sure this is the right profession for them. If on Dicker, they should never let him try another.

I'm going to dinner then a concert. Don't let something you can't control ruin your day/weekend/year/life.
