*****GAME THREAD: Texas Longhorns @ #13 Baylor Bears*****

How does a major football school like UT not fire Herman after this dreadful, poorly coached 3rd season? I'm serious.

Stability has to count for something. That and his buyout is probably huge.

I was watching the guys at LHN talk about comparing Baylor 3rd year vs our 3rd year and recruiting classes came up.  I cringed when I heard one of them say you cant just go by stars because you dont know what you are going to get by just looking at stars.  However true this is it reeks of excuses because I dont see Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson making those excuses

There is zero stability in this program. It is a dumpster fire that is spreading and will destroy recruiting and fan support. BMD's need to step up and stop the spiral into the trash heap of college football.

They did 3 years ago.  This seems worse though after last year to regress this much.  Our OL was man handled today

We need to be stable at the HC position for more than 3 years. We don't want to turn into Tennessee. Herman gets one more year with the caveat that changes need to be made on his staff. I'm hoping CDC sees what needs to happen and assert his authority.

I read lots of people screaming to fire Herman and simply hire Meyer and all problems will be solved. Personally I've never been a fan of Meyer so I wonder who else is out there that would be a possibility. Not convinced that anything will happen due to the financial part but still curious who would be a good hire for both the program and the fans?

On a side note, I see comparisons to Rhule, and the coach at Minnesota as better choices than Herman but can't help but wonder where we might be if Franklin had been hired instead of Charlie.

This entire staff is inept. They should all be replaced. Its shameful how BU already boast the #1 defense in the B12 while Herman and Orlando showcase a shitshow every week. Ruhle already has his team playing faster and more fundamentally sound thats why they are 10-1. Texas has talented players but the team is not prepared week in and week out thats 100% coaching. Texas has had top ten recruiting classes but when is the talent evident on the field? Good well coached teams dont beat themsleves many times the horns are their on worst enemy..it pissess me off to see poor execution..all season the wrs run routes on the wrong side of the 1st down marker..cmon man wth?

Texas has been Tenn for several years now already. This whole staff has to go.

Nooooo! I refuse to believe that. Although there are a few coincidences.

Seriously though, the buyout is probably too steep, Herman is Fenves' guy and I think Herman needs to be given a chance to replicate or surpass last years success

Its been a recurring nightmare for the last decade.  The let down this year is painful considering how well we did last year

What confuses me offensively is why every running play is slow developing. That to me is the most frustrating part of the offense. It is clear that we do not have many if any game breakers but it also seems like we do not do a very good job of getting the athletes we do have in space where they can try and make someone miss. Either we do not have the athletes that everyone thinks we do or we are doing a poor job of scheming those athletes. That is one of the reasons I'd really like to explore someone like Morris as the OC.

The AD needs to set the tone. Right now comit that this team will not participate in any bowl as they have not earned it.  Go ahead and inform  Tom that there will be Coaches that will be relieved after the Tech game and Tom can either except or resign. I only say this because everyone says he will not be fired so he damn sure better feel the full pressure  of his lack of performance  as the Head Coach.

This bothers me too and that is A&M is playing at a much higher level than we are and that is going to have a big effect on recruiting.  Jimbo looks to be improving the AGs in year 2.

I agree with the the first part regarding CDC but if they beat Tech, I think you accept a bowl bid for the seniors. They may not be the best bunch but they have been through a heck of a lot over the past 4-5 years and a bowl game primarily benefits them.

CDC is the one person I have confidence in. I disagree on not going to a bowl. That is too much attention which could hurt recruiting. You're also punishing the players and I believe it is not their fault.

I a  sorry but there should no bowl game for this program. They experienced the Sugar last year so let that be there bowl experience  instead of some no name bowl with empty bleachers.
