GAME THREAD: Kansas Jayhawks @ Texas Longhorns

I completely agree, how hard is it to rebuild after this shit show year in and year out. That’s the worry for me. These kids want results.  Been promised new beginnings for 10 years
We've been putting band aids on a serious wound. I think Sark is the right response, but it won't be overnight if done the right way.

I have been a DC Pete K apologist all year but he has lost me, his inability to change his base defense from the 3-2-5 2 high safety scheme and getting shredded every game has got me thinking that Sark need to shop for a new DC, even Manny D wasn't this bad...

I also think Hudson Card has played his way into the QB dog house with only one way to go and thats the transfer portal, I won't blame him for the blindside fumble but the Pick Six was a back breaker that we never recovered from, you cant make that kind of mistake coming off a turnover

this team showed some balls coming back, but the unsportsmanlike penalty was inexcusable especially in OT, and why PK didnt bring the house still has me scratching my head

kinda ashamed of this team, to get beat at home by a KU team that was a 30 pt underdog is unacceptable, not from a betting standpoint but because KU doesnt deserve to be on the field with UT on paper and the Horns made them look like world beaters

Sark is burning his political capital like a pimp burning C Notes...his hand picked staff has some dead weight cronies that need to go down the road
The only way to explain why PK keeps staying in the two-deep would be because he doesn't trust his CBs.

I have tried scrolling back and can’t find if anyone has posted any update on Bijon’s injury.  Has anyone seen or heard an update?

Well. We left at the end of regulation. We had to relieve the babysitter. I guess we saved ourselves some in-person pain.

I hate to overreact but PK has to go. We put up 56 points and lost to Kansas.

I credit a lot of the players for fighting and not giving up. It sucks when you get thrown in a 35-14 hole going into halftime. They kept fighting though and I appreciate that. Xavier was hurting and he kept grinding despite the pain. CT threw an INT, turned around, and led a TD drive to send the game to OT. Bijan fought through injury and suffered another injury fighting for his teammates.

I’d comment more on Card, but at the end of the day, he’s a kid and there’s more than enough negativity in the Longhorn universe tonight. Please just play Casey.

Unfortunately neither Casey nor Hudson are the long term answer.  I would push for Ewers or Manning but if they watch our OL they won’t come here

The 3-2 is a prevent defense, it prevents you from winning, what is There to protect ? All the team that beat us have pounded the rock not air raided us, the defense is designed to keep the ball in front of you and not get beat deep, but we are giving up huge yardage ahead of our defenders before someone comes up to make the stop. You want to protect your corners, get a better pass rush  and make them think you can bring the house whenever you want. This defense plays soft and reacts. I would rather take my chances with a defense that attacks and causes turnovers , mistakes and creates opportunities

The true problem is a stubborn DC that is so set in his ways that he is not willing to adapt. Keep slamming that square peg into a round hole so that your defense can get torched game after game.

All that I can say is shame on the players on this roster. Except for a small hand full, they should pack their bags and just leave. I predicted KS would win and that their QB would look all world. That was an easy guess after seeing the "QUIT and NOT GIVE A SH*T ATTITUDE" of these "players". I have never seen anything close to this in UT football. What a disgrace. Sark needs to empty the roster, go to the portal big time and show that immediate playing time is there for the taking. This goes for recruiting too. As for going to the sec..........big mistake, but it's all about money to UT administration anyway.

All I will add to what has already been posted is that I am glad we played TT and TCU early or the record would be worse. Not sure the actual performance could look worse.?

Posted on another thread hope Sark is in contact with Baylor's D Cord.

Texas has not had a defense all year some thing needs to change.

Maybe it was Lake PK has not showed much on his own. Big mistake letting Ash go.

Texas lost one player on defense and we have this.

Body Language. Several players mentioned that they had been told to improve or be aware of their body language.

Sark has the worst body language of any coach I've ever seen. He is constantly squatting with his face in the clipboard and wearing the headset, although rarely speaking. He rarely engages with the players or the referee's. He is not the face of the program at all, he rarely shows his face, just staring at that damn clipboard.

How do we let some 250 lb (maybe more) guy be two yards in the end zone uncovered on the game deciding two point conversion?  I mean really?  Should have been holding on the play but we never get those calls but if I’m a defensive back I am all over anything that comes into that end zone. We are back 2-3 yards off of them.  This isn’t some superstar athletic dude.  Schooler plays hard and is a good kid but ball hits him in the hands.  Make the catch and the game is over.
We have a good class of DLinemen coming in and hope we can keep them.  We have GOT to get some guys that can get to the QB.  We need Portal help at LB and DB.  Couple of OL, couple of receivers and probably a QB.  We are going to see if Sark can fix this.  EVERYTHING needs to be evaluated.

Man an epitome of a teammate, a warrior……..Bijan goes down and they’re walking him to the locker room and two or three times he looks back like he wants to stay.  He hated to leave his teammates at that point.  You could tell he hated to go to the locker room.  He prayed with Ehlinger on the sidelines last year against Colorado when Sam went out.  Great great kid.

Good grief.
