GAME THREAD – Horns host Santa Clara

Santa Clara had 3 runs on 5 hits and 1 error

Texas had 8 runs on 10 hits and no errors

Texas is now 12-1

Rojas was the winning pitcher today

Game time tomorrow will be 11 am

I only got to watch the last 2 innings. Any reason Harrison came out after 3? His pitch count didn’t seem too high. I just worry about his arm troubles in the past.
 
Thru 3.5 Texas leads 2-1. Volantis gives up a lead off double that scores, but gets the next 3 guys out.
Volantis thru his 4 innings of work is at or under 50 pitches thrown. Compare to the Santa Clara pitcher being over 60 pitches and hasn't yet started the Texas half of the 4th.
 
What's up with the nazi umpires checking the hands and gloves of each pitcher as they enter or leave the field.
 
Offense wasn't as explosive this series. Averaged 6 runs a game against pitching that I assume is not at the level of quality we will face in conference play.

Pitching was pretty great all weekend. Giving up 2 runs a game. Again, not the level of offenses they will face in the SEC but a pretty dominant performance.
