• The 8-2 start by Texas is its best since 2009 (11-0 start). The Longhorns have won seven games in a row after starting the season 1-2.

• The Longhorn bullpen has not allowed an earned run in 31 consecutive innings dating back to the sixth inning of the UTSA game (2/17). The bullpen’s ERA is a microscopic 0.82.

• USD baseball was picked 3rd in the preseason WCC Coaches Poll (Loyola Marimount 1st; Pepperdine 2nd).

• Both of San Diego’s wins have come in the finales of their first two series. Their Sunday starter, PJ Conlon is effective, and the Torreros’ young offensive talent has been better against teams’ 3rd starter.

UT confirmed to me that they intend to play tonight's game regardless of on-field temp. They're concerned about the potential for lightning/storms tomorrow, so they want to avoid playing a DH, if possible.

Just started raining again. Everything is soaked. DFF drains well, but tonight's game is iffy depending on how much comes down between now & 6:30. 

I'll be at the ballpark early and will post a weather update then. This rain is pretty localized so there's no telling what it's doing downtown.
