Burton has pulled off his thinking it was basically a done deal. Says others are in play, and he thinks someone else could be "on the hook"

Fits with IT not really buying the Watson stuff either

Been hearing that. Damn, I hope so!

Yup, I posted this on the coaching staff sticky

I'm not at all sold on Watson. I'm thinking the longer it goes and he's not announced the less likely he will be the new oc. My guess is CS wanted him but Patterson stepped in and said let's slow this thing down and really explore our options. IMO the oc and ol positions are the 2 most important hires left and we darn sure don't need to settle for anything less than the best. The money is there Charlie-use it.

So you mean people may have been panicking for nothing?

now people are panicking elsewhere because MI hired Bama's OC and how impressive that somehow is. Nevermind Saban wanted to make a change per some reports and no one wanted Bama's offense at Texas anyway

Well, I guess we might get bored if we didn't have all these people ready to jump off cliffs every time something "might" happen that has the slightest deviation from their ideal world.

My side has changed their stance also. Saying there are some people that were not happy with the hire or thought of it. If Watson is going to come it might be in a co-oc role. Which he might not accept

I bet Saban encouraged that as he has indicated he wants to update his offense.

take it for what its worth but names they were putting out were

Tom Herman, Ohio State

Mike Yurcich, Oklahoma State

Josh Henson, Missouri

Shawn Watson, Louisville

Mike Norvell, Arizona State

Man I would be done for some Noel Mazzone. I was able to see his offense when he had Ozzie at ASU a few years back. Def understands the spread principles

Nuss is a great hire for them though. He isn't a "Bama offense guy." Ran spread stuff at UW. Will probably combine both which is what Hoke seems to want at Michigan.

Spoke with someone today who was talking about Yurcich. First time I had heard that name. Maybe he knows more than all of us.

Seemed to think he could come with Wickline.
