Just saw on the local news that this happened last year in a game that Oregon was playing. According to the report, the ball laid on the ground for 7 seconds and was "recovered" by Oregon who was awarded the ball at the 1 yard line, drove down the field and scored the winning TD.

The ball last Saturday sat on the field for a total of 3 seconds before it was "recovered" by Texas in the end-zone and we all know what happened.

Not much we can do about it now but I find that report to be a little interesting.

Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist but Charlie does seem to have bad luck with Big XII officials.

I was yelling at the tv like everyone else. Seems like replay is failing in college football.. Unfortunately the game should have never been played that close and never been left in the hands of the refs. Exactly how okie st felt last week. Was terrible officiating but we played to lose.

By all rights the final score should have been 57 to 43.

Had he held onto the ball after he crossed the goal line that would be true but he didn't.

Word is, the officials had already blown the play dead so it's a moot point.
Yes, it's a moot point but that's the point of this discussion. Why were they so fast (~3 seconds) to blow the whistle on a possible fumble?

Oh well, next topic?
