Four Horned Frog football players were among 17 students arrested Wednesday morning on drug charges. Tanner Brock, defensive lineman D.J. Yendry, offensive tackle Tyler Horn and cornerback Devin Johnson, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The 17 students were charged with drug dealing and the police have them selling to undercover officers. The police chief said there is not a doubt. The university has expelled all the students involved.

In a related story Gary Patterson had the entire team take a drug test after a recruit told him of widespread drug use. One of the players involved said he didn't believe 20 players on the team would be clean on a drug test..

Not the kind of news we wanted to hear from the Big 12 newest member.

What do you expect from a bunch of spoiled ass private schools kids???? HAHAHA. Seriously, what a shame. Coach Patterson is a good coach and I liked what he had to say about the incident:

"There are days people want to be a head football coach, but today is not one of those days," Patterson said in a prepared statement. "As I heard the news this morning, I was first shocked, then hurt and now I'm mad.

"Under my watch, drugs and drug use by TCU's student-athletes will not be tolerated by me or any member of my coaching staff. Period. Our program is respected nationally for its strong ethics and for that reason the players arrested today were separated from TCU by the University.

"I believe strongly that young people's lives are more important than wins or losses."

This story gets worse and worse the more that comes out. A recruit refused to commit to TCU because of the known drug problem amongst the athletes there. How long did Patterson know this was going on? Chuck Neinas must be proud of his new conference team.

I went to high school in Forth Worth and almost went there before I was accepted to UT. TCU is a good school with a decent athletic program. I used to clean the Amon Carter Stadium as part of my high school baseball team's responsibilities. This is a bad deal for all of the Big XII but this kinda crap happens at every school. I think TCU has always had penis envy of Texas and they probably always will, but this puts a damper on the inaugural B12 season for the horned frogs.
