#5 Michigan State leads Western Michigan 13-7 with 2:45 left in the 1st quarter.

#4 Baylor leads SMU 21-14 with 2:38 left in the 1st quarter.

#23 Boise State plays Washington tonight at 9:15 CST.

Baylor looks awful. Another group that seems to have read a lot of preseason clippings.

Chad Morris is doing a helluva job with SMU. Wow.

Stephenville, TX has a special interest in this Baylor/SMU game. The Head Coaches for both Baylor and SMU were once the Stephenville Head Coaches.

Baylor hasn't looked remotely dominant in this contest. They're more talented but SMU looks far more composed. Could TCU and BU be overrated coming into this season?

Baylor looking more like a No. 4 team...I think TCU is WAY overrated after last night.

I don't know that I'd give much credence to BU tonight. They got by on ability alone in the first half and only led a team that won one game last year by a touchdown. In the 3rd, they've benefited from bad pass coverage.

Their 97 yard drive was impressive. But it doesn't make up for all of the mediocre play to this point. If anything, I think both TCU and BU have shown tonight that they're beatable. It'll just take superior opponents than an above average Big 10 team and a bottom dweller American team to take them down.

This could be both teams overlooking their opponents. I won't rule that out. But this week goes to show that neither team could afford to overlook another team this season.

If I'm Morris, I'm going for it on 4th. Briles is going to run the score up on you anyways. Might as well take a chance and then not have to worry about BU wasting so much clock time.

The passing connection in the 2nd half for BU has been great. But SMU's defensive backs can't tackle to save their lives.

BU QB Stidham was pretty hyped...42 yard TD on first college pass attempt...nice debut.

Baylor ended up looking like a valid ranked team...TCU last night looked like a team that could lose multiple games

this year. I know there's a big difference in the circumstances, BUT...it is what it is. TCU looked poor last night, IMO.

I was not impressed and don't think Baylor looked like a top 5 team tonight.

SMU played with them through almost 3 quarters. The overwhelming size advantage and lack of depth is what did SMU in during the 4th and when Baylor opened it up.

So Baylor had to wear down a team that was 1-11 last year.

I miss the days when 56-21 wins were critiqued.

That defense has serious issues, granted they were missing 2 starters. I think Baylor actually loses a couple games. That defense will eventually cost them.
