I honestly have no idea how this coaching search is going to end but I have to admit it has been fascinating to watch.

Wow! Any updates JF?I thought I'd resurrect this thread and point out that jfcruise's source is on the Sexton/Saban side of the situation. FYI
This is big newsI thought I'd resurrect this thread and point out that jfcruise's source is on the Sexton/Saban side of the situation. FYI
Can't wait to pop the cork, bruha.I'm not sure what will make me more thrilled getting our new coach or listening to the media, especially Finebaum crawfish... Can't Wait!
I've been lurking here for a while but I thought I'd comment on this. I don't mean this to be accusatory, but if there were sources on the Saban side about him possibly leaving, wouldn't Bama boards hear about it first (or at least by now)? Certainly they have very strong sources in their own department like we have in ours. It would seem odd that the Bama forums have virtually no discussion on the issue other than a few scattered threads making fun of the Saban Christmas poem. Again, I'm just asking, not saying anyone is wrong.I thought I'd resurrect this thread and point out that jfcruise's source is on the Sexton/Saban side of the situation. FYI
In the intelligence/information field it's a hell of lot easier for one side to keep things quiet if that side is limited to a couple of people. If there is talking going on with Saban then his side of the table is probably pretty small and doesn't include anyone within the Alabama athletic dept. Much different on the Texas side. A lot more room for leaks.I've been lurking here for a while but I thought I'd comment on this. Not necessarily. Keep in mind that the previous stories linking Saban to Texas were blown away as fiction on December 13, by Saban when he signed the extension with 'Bama. I expect 'Bama people just roll their eyes when new info surfaces, rather than give any credible traction to new discussions with Texas.I've been lurking here for a while but I thought I'd comment on this. If I were an insider on the bama side, id stick my head in the sand and hope for the best. If you post apocolyptical information like that on the bama boards you better be right.I've been lurking here for a while but I thought I'd comment on this. Agree. My disdain for MBTF is way more than a backwoods ESPN hack.I'd like to see Mack's meltdown.
You hit the nail on the head my friend. And the Vegas odds are even worse than they were before so he more than likely isnt going anywhere. Their boards would be lighting up with rumors and inside info like ours are. I dont know if they are or arent but it doesnt seem like this story has the amount of attraction that it did earlier this month. I think that ship sailed a long long time ago and we just need to let the committee do its job. im confident they will get us a great hire. Im really wanting Fisher, cause of his age and background. We will find out who was right and wrong with the whole Saban issue soon enough and I dont think its looking good for some that have continued to say he is our next head coach. This of course is all my opinion and i have no inside info or anything of the like. It seems like we are turning into a daytime soap opera. I tend to agree with you, if you are comparing one administration to another. However, the Sabans and their friends live there and, like the reports we got previously, whereby their friends said no way Saban was coming to Texas, there should be leaks from the personal side. Don't you think? Not necessarily. Keep in mind that the previous stories linking Saban to Texas were blown away as fiction on December 13, by Saban when he signed the extension with 'Bama. And, unless Saban is trying to get 'Bama in another bidding war, there would be no reason to involve the 'Bama admin. or their Big Donors in the latest negotiations with Texas. With no parties involved on the 'Bama side, except Saban and Sexton, there would be no leaks on the 'Bama side. But that's Saban's decision.
Not if the Sabans are really considering the switch. As big of a name as Saban has made for himself along with the fact that he has faced scrutiny in the past for moves he's made. I'd imagine that no one outside of the immediate family would know about the move until shortly before it is made. Of course, that's merely my opinion based on my own interpretations of the way Saban operates.I tend to agree with you, if you are comparing one administration to another. Remember how this got out last time, before Black Friday? I don't suppose he'd want that to happen again.I tend to agree with you, if you are comparing one administration to another.
