Penn State transfer kicker Anthony Fera reportedly has a strained or pulled groin and is not practicing with the team. No word yet on how bad it is. When i hear more i will post.

I was told it might keep him out of the first game. That's not too bad. We have him for 2 years, it's best just to watch it for now. Although it can be much worse, I think Texas is being very cautious.

Saw that this is not a new injury. Its something that happened while he was at PSU.

Yes, O'Brien's conditioning programs focused alot on Squats and power cleans. From experience, they are a bitch. I hated it but why was a kicker doing them? Granted I am no expert in kicker conditioning but trying to max out on power cleans doesn't seem like an effective workout for a kicker.

Hah, if that is the case then he is lucky all he has is a strained groin!

Reports are now that Fera will miss 6 weeks with a "leg injury."

That would make sense with missing the first game, so my source was a little off. Sue me Lol. Don't need him till Oklahoma State I think anyways.

Wisconsin game may come down to the last kick... LOL.

Listen guys, be concerned a tad about Fera's groin. He will need to recover completely if this thing is not going to hang around all season. Worst case scenario is hi misses a handful of games this season and that is not good news. Mack used a scholly on him for the purpose of kicking this season. Anything short is a disappointment.
