Hornsports has a good friend/source at the Dallas Morning News who requested that his name not be mentioned in this update.
Hornsports was told that Porter did indeed de-commit from Texas. There were reports that Porter de-committed via twitter.

That was not the case. Porter contacted Coach Strong via phone call and told Strong that he was de-committing.

Here is where it gets interesting. Coach Strong apparently got extremely vocal and voiced his displeasure. There was some shouting or raised voices.

As of right now, Texas has not thrown in the towel.

Say whuuuuuuut? "Extremely vocal" means what, shouting, terse, fatherly, what?

if the kid goes to LSU and thinks "man, I liked Texas much more" it could be very good for us. I am not too worried about it either way.

I believe that Coach Strong is OK. Do you guys even know what Porter said to Coach Strong or what transpired in the morning meeting. So I think a non issue is answer. OK HOOK'EM
