ECU with a huge win and a great example of why I hate the TT offense

ECU started out a team on fire, 4 drives into the game and they are up 21-0. . . 

Then with 4th and 2 from teh 12 yard line, instead of going up 24-0. . .4 scores, they decide to go for it. . .brain dead stupid. . .

But the real problem I have with Lincoln Riley's play calling was extending the game by throwing deep so often . ..didn't even use their short passing game, didn't try to run the ball, damn sure didn't run clock. . . 

15 ECU drives in the game, 4 of them for TDs and close to 300 of their 500 yards (sometimes stats can be really misleading).

10 drives of 5 or fewer plays that lead to punts or turnovers.

Worse, they gave Va Tech 16 drives. ..should have been 12 or 13 . .. .

I've seen TT snatch defeat from the jaws of victory frequently with this type of air raid, play station football. . . .

In the 4th quarter, ECU was snapping the ball with as much as 20 seconds on the clock. . . .WHY?

Your defense is gassed (damn but they didn't gut up in the game)

Huge win for ECU.. .a team I like but DO NOT want us running such a poor offense. ..

Can't help but parallel the clock management bungling by the UT staff after the fumble recovery in our game. Burned a half minute and punted from deep in our territory! I thought the game was won after the recovery. Silly me.

The difference in that situation was that we absolutely had to have 1st downs to run out the clock and the hurry up was working best.

But there was no reason not to go to the line, not allow UCLA to sub and snap the clock with 2-3 seconds left . . .same thing that cost us the conference and Natty in lubbock in 2008.
