Like you, I'm giddy with excitement. But we need to temper our emotions and just wait with patience. I've got my hopes up in the past only to have them crash back down to earth with a giant thud. This Saban soap opera has taken us on a rollercoaster of emotions. At first, I thought it was a pipe dream. As time went on I became more convinced it could come to pass. Then all the talk of a contract extension by Bama put me back in the "no way" camp. Well, I became more encouraged Saturday during Saban's sit down with Chris Fowler. It would have been easy enough to simply ask Nick if there was any fire with the smoke regarding Texas. The topic was never touched, leaving me to believe there might very well be something there. I say all that to say this, I fear total meltdown by Longhorn Nation if Mack somehow survives to coach another year. It seems highly unlikely, but we still need to keep our fingers crossed. FWIW :)

I think Mack is gone either way but my hopes are sky high with Saban.

but if something falls though I will be initially disappointed but then move on to UT hiring another big coach

Its very exciting, I just want to know that we are getting a new coach.

I am perfectly happy for Malzahn if it isn't Saban. (might even prefer Malzahn)

But let's face it Saban would be a home run for sure, and we would prob get some recruiting momentum and more respect with his name.

Can't help but get excited!

Sorry RC. My hopes are UP. And they are going to stay that way.

I just refuse to believe that Mack has any chance of coming back.
