Texas - Most Points Allowed In A Season

Of the 25 worst scoring defenses in school history, Mack Brown oversaw 11 of them, including the worst.....

Damn, that is a harsh statistic for MB. What coordinators and how many of these "worst" seasons can be attributed to each?

While there is zero excuse for the 2012 defense (which is 2nd only to the infamous 1997 defense as the worst I've personally ever seen in Texas Football) I think that statistic is a little unfair to Mack.

Scoring is up overall, and many Mack Brown teams played 13 games (vs 11 for Mackovic or McWilliams, and 10 for older squads).

Also the 03, 08, 09 teams scored over 525 points in a season. A lot of blowouts, a lot of garbage second halves where cheap touchdowns happen. If my team is scoring 40 points a game I'm not sweating it at all if my D is giving up 21-25 a game.
