Much ado about nothing, IMO. First, Bonney was speaking only for himself. He said nothing about what Mack "told all the committed players."But, objectively, this goes perfectly with what Mack ALWAYS told committed recruits: "if you're not sure and you want to take visits, you're NOT committed." That's what the whole "No visits" policy was all about.
IMO, he probably told Bonney that if he did take visits, don't count on the new staff to hold his scholarship.
In fact, judging by their actions, the new staff was probably fine with this. I believe they want to perform their own evaluations and are not too upset if recruits jump ship if they're not ALL IN on Coach Strong's new way of doing things.
