come on jb!  you are much to intelligent.. to have taken away that small amount of insight as per that spectacular video.  just from the standpoint of it being at baylor, a small private university that suddenly seems to have AWAKENED big time, in regards to a new edge commitment to football excellence, innovation, and superior facilities.  i shall take my hat off to them!  the complete commitment to excellence, permeating throughout that particular room, was not only a bit costly vs generous.. it was profoundly brilliant!   upon design, concept, and sheer and utter imagination.. i for one, can attest, that i have NEVER EVER seen this particular room concept anywhere!  BRAVO BAYLOR!

Monarch, please do not be offended, but i just have to make some comments about the premise of this thread ...

Regarding Baylor's Recruiting Room, nice idea, but I am not impressed.  The colors are garish, and quite frankly, it reeks of mall food court ... Oh, wait! ... WIN!!!!!  At least for some recruits. 

Also I finally took a look at the video of the A$M facility ... sorry ... tacky to the extreme ... not because it is aggie.  Looks like a Sixth Street bar made to look slick and sophisticated with plastic laminate and lighting effects ... only when the real lights come on, you see it for the stage set that it is. I expect to quickly look around to see the cockroaches scurrying away.  Seems like I remember seeing photos of that facility recently with big ol' beanbags lying about.  Yeah, If I was sore from a workout, that is where I would want to relax!

Sorry, just because you have the money to build it, does not mean that you or your designers have any common sense, much less taste.

Please, Powers that Be, do not look at these videos, there is nothing there for you but eye strain.

Besides, maybe I am just being influenced by the recent Booger Brooks thread, but consider the beginning image of that Baylor video ... does it not look like one of those guys is saying to the other,  "Hey!  If I put my finger up your nose, will you put yours up mine?  Okay, on the count of three.  One ... two ..."   I thought that was only for aggies.

budreaureye, i see that you are hereby initiating your posting, as if you are afraid that it is going to injure my feelings.  nope, nothing couldn't be further from the truth.  you may need to understand my good pal, that you are maintaining a discourse, along with a guy that has labored throughout the theater of afghanistan for quite a few years.  i am not thin skinned!  budreaureye, you of course know that i love you, but the entire premise as per your statement, is purely based upon your opinion.  along with a few cartoon antics.. for which of course, i truly respect.  however, my great pal.. you are hereby not entitled to your very own facts.

i have taken the very initiative, to scour all of my other site's.. just to clarify upon whether or not if i was over reacting upon my initial OP.  oh boy, am i now feeling quite the normal human being.  upon everyone of my other sites (OB, HORNS DIGEST, IT, HORNS 247, HORN FANS, BURNT ORANGE NATION, BARKING CARNIVAL, SHAGGY BEVO) just to name a few, all harbor a dedicated page pertaining to the magnificent palace.. that is the aTm locker room renovation, vs expansion, as well as the baylor masterpiece, dedicated recruitment facility.  heck, upon the OB alone.. there are currently (4x count) dedicated threads my good pal.  you are more than welcome to visit them yourself, just to gain a broader perspective.

now, there is one thing that i have surely learned throughout performing my due diligence.  there are currently a lot of very angry and upset members as per LONGHORN NATION!  there are a few of our HS mild mannered members, that may have thought that i was over reacting a bit upon our discourse.  they should visit the OB.  they shall come away thinking that monarch is nothing more than a gentle lamb.  most of LONGHORN NATION is hereby upset, that the powers that be.. have allowed for many of the athletic facilities of the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS to deteriorate to the very degree.. that a few of our very own players, along with many of our new young recruits.. are hereby "tweeting" their high regard, as per the brilliant vs magnificent renovations vs expansion.. of aTm / baylor / oklahoma / houston, and many other institutions of higher learning throughout our great nation.  to many members of LONGHORN NATION.. this is an utter disgrace!

please bear in mind, my great pal (bear, is indeed spelled correctly) that whatever both you and i think about the athletic facilities as per the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, is largely irrelevant.  i say this only because.. we are not the players vs recruits, that have to live upon the campus vs visiting the campus.  these are the very individuals, for which maintaining adequate state of the art facilities truly matters.  upon any moment, that i may take the initiative to voice my OPINION.. vs create an uproar based upon my OPINION.. it is only due to the very fact the i LOVE the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.. and i only want the very best for it.  therefore, we may be able to attract the very best recruits vs maintain the very best players, by keeping them happy and confident.  my presented discourse, has never ever been about me personally....

Monarch, I am well aware that the posts on this thread are not personal.  Bottom line is that I really do not care much.  I base my comments only on the evidence that you have presented for your argument.  My comments stand ... food court mall ... bad stage set design dressing room design with requisite athlete looking folks "oohing and awing" over, I admit, well lit shoe displays.  Based on the evidence that you have presented in the videos that I have seen, the two facilities at A$M and Baylor are jokes, and I would be embarrassed to call them to anyone's attention as something that might be emulated.  I do not care what all of those folks on all of those other sports websites are saying.  I do not have access to them, at least the pay for view ones and I would not take the time to go read them even if I did. If you feel better after consulting with all of them ... Good!  As some one once said, "There is no accounting for taste, and money ain't it."  I would hope that no one of our "Powers that Be" would base any decisions on future UT athletic facilities based on the images that you have presented.  I think that we have bigger fish to fry.

Dammit!  Why in hell do I now want to go get fried catfish?  And they tore down Spring Hill Restaurant in Bee Caves!   POOT!   No catfish for miles!
