Cy Falls LB Otaro Alaka

Aggie is looking at a top 5 recruiting class this year. Has it ever happened before? Probably - if you go back to the 30s or count the classes they bought.
But this year's A&M recruiting class isn't consistent with their history no matter how you define the period.
I'm not certain aggy ever had a lot of top 5 classes but there were a LOT of years before Mack Brown arrived that aggy cleaned house in Texas...or at least compared to the Longhorns. We also had strong competition from Miami and Fla State, and there were probably a few years in which out of state schools took more top recruits (out of Texas) than either Longhorn or Aggie.

Juan G..I suppose we could look at this news in several different ways. I'm sure he's seen the Texas facilities more than once, and now that he's had a visit with Coach Strong and staff....not sure what he would accomplish with another visit to Austin. I assume his parents also got to meet Charlie and crew when they were here.

Not to mention the weather kinda sux...

Folks, I hope I am wrong, but I believe Mr. Alaka will be wearing maroon this year.

He likes his own room.

Aggy interprets this as good news and horns fans interpret this as good news. We shall see. TEXASSTRONG!

He's already committed to Texas. He's met Charlie and likes him. Why would he need to visit Austin again? Nonsensical. (I'm just hoping...not certain at all:)

Here is Scott's view on this generally --

** TEXAS beat A&M 27-25 in 2011 at Kyle Field in the final TEXAS v A&M game.

** TEXAS record against A&M under Mack Brown was 10-4.

** TEXAS is 76-37-5 against A&M all-time

** TEXAS is 3-1 in BCS bowl games since January 2005 (A&M has zero BCS appearances during that time)

** A&M has had FOUR different head coaches during the 16 years Mack Brown was at TEXAS

** Despite having the Heisman winner/high draft pick, A&M finished 3rd & 4th in the west division of the conference

** Sumlin's defenses at University of Houston before he came to A&M were almost as bad as A&M's this year

If Longhorn Scoop knows what he/she/it is talking about .........

Longhorn scoop is a twitter account started by some random person who has a 247 and OB subscription. This person just retweets stuff he sees and tweets information that paysites report.

In other words, no Longhorn scoop doesn't know shit. That picture of Alaka is old.

Yep, I think he's just saying he's a commit as of now. Which he is. Doesn't mean he's shut down the process.

Nick Harvey just started following Bedford, Vaughn (d-backs boach), and Duke Thomas on Twitter.
