Crossfire - 6/13

The bulk of Wilkinsons losses were to DKR and another reason he retired from football.
i know, just pointing out he didn't run roughshod over us for 20 years.

Anyway my points were simply that 1) i think the arkansas rivalry is remembered more fondly than it really was because of a handful of memorable games from the 60s and 2) if expansion/realignment are all about TV sets and money, why would ARK even be in the discussion?

But, see, that is the conundrum.  If expansion is all about TV's and money, then why TCU?  For that matter, why WVU?

It can only be concluded that both schools enjoyed the conference inclusion for no other reason than as slot fillers.  If so, this proves that expansion CAN occur for reasons other than TV sets.

But, I must agree, money is without a doubt the driving force for future expansion.

without knowing the inner workings, my guess the answer to that question was panic and putting a tourniquet on a league bleeding out members. at that point the league HAD to do something after losing 4 schools.

perhaps there was concern the sec might try and move in to DFW. don't know.
