I'm behind the Strong hire, and I think he'll do some great things with the UT program. We wanted a culture change, and he will bring it. Strong's big on accountability and he won't coddle his players. If they hit the field, it will be because they earn it. I agree that I want to see him get the best available OC out there, and basically turn the offense over to him. That OC might even be Wyatt, who's still on the job at UT. Speaking of that, there is some remaining talent on the current UT staff, and I'd hope that Strong at least considers a couple of the current assistants, combined with whoever he wants to bring from his Louisville staff, and any hires from other programs around the country.
This may not be a "Saban-level" hire, but just maybe UT got who they needed instead of who a lot of us wanted. I'm okay with that thought, and willing to give Strong the benefit of the doubt. For those comparing this hire to that of Mackovic...uh uh...Strong's no wine drinker head coach. He's not above some trickeration, but he'd prefer that his team beats yours into the ground over outsmarting it. I like that take no prisoners attitude.
