Common Man Prediction Thread – UT vs Rock Chalk Jayhawk

Looking like Card will be your starter. Thompson's thumb will not be well enough to play, IMO.

During the PC, TE Brewer noted that Thompson couldn't even throw up a Hook'em sign at the beginning of the game.

Personally, I'd like to see what Charles Wright can do. We've seen Card and what he can do.
Charles Wright got moved down to 4th string last week, try to keep up. And 2 1/2 qtrs for a RS Freshman against the two best defenses we’ve played is all year is all you need to see huh? The list of qb’s that struggled at that stage of their career is long and distinguished.

I don't really care what string he is, I'd still like to see what Charles Wright can do. Didn't need to keep up.

Huh? Louisiana's defense is one of the best we've seen? Well, lol, I'll let you believe what you want.

Card is stiff as a board, slow, and because of that he doesn't do well behind the turnstile OL we have. A different OL, maybe he's more effective.

Card is not slow.  If any qb on Texas’ roster is slow it’s Thompson.  Card can outrun Thompson easily.  Slow stiff kids don’t play WR at Lake Travis.  Nor do slow stiff qb’s get ranked as a top 2-3 dual threat qb.  Dude is no either slow nor stiff.  You do know that #1 is Card and #11 is Thompson right?!

So what do you call somebody that says he’s slow and stiff?

Maybe right on.
Of the 40's times I have seen Casey's is better than Card's.

instead of slow and stiff maybe he has been instructed to stay in the pocket. Belive Sark profers a pocket passer.

Still nothing wrong in giving another QB playing time espically over WO's

Card's foot-speed is fine, it's his indecisiveness that's a hindrance. He runs 4.7-ish

He's got Colt McCoy athleticism without the feel for the game.

I'm sorry, but inability to avoid the rush is why he's 2nd string.

Unlike you, I don't have a dog in this fight. All I care about is a QB who can win. Thompson has shown he's the better QB. All one has to do is see that he had like 16 out of 18 of his drives at one point resulted in scores.

Meanwhile, Card had 7 straight possessions of 3 and out, which led to his demotion. He simply was helpless against the rush. He looked like an old man back there.

Nothing personal, but I think you're looking at the HS kid and I'm looking at the college sophomore.

Kwame Cavil was a converted LB to WR. He ran the same 4.7-4.8 40 time.

Just because you play WR doesn't mean you're fast. As Cavil showed, you can be a little slow and be successful at that position.

Card would probably do well with an OL that performed and protected him. Thats what he had a Travis against mostly dramatically inferior competition (outside of Westlake).

Its more than just indecisiveness. If you watch him scramble, or attempt to scramble, he's not hard to catch and bring down. Its like he's running in mud.

I know Sark is busy right now, hope he has someone in contact with Baylor's Def, Cord.

Mean while Baylor is making OU QB look like he stuck in mud. Maybe time for Rattler.
Rattler now stuck in mud. lol

Baylor is playing great defense.

On offense, if you looked at Bohannon's passing stat line, you'd probably not guess they were winning.

So earlier I checked in on Auburn-Miss State. Auburn was leading comfortably something like 21-3.

Right now, Miss State is leading Auburn 43-28 in the 4th.

This picture looks familiar.
