I can't remember ever hearing of a UT silent offer, but maybe I am wrong. I have heard of silent commits until they can decommit.

Yep, just because we aren't hearing an offer doesn't mean an offer hasn't been made. I would think at least one of Avery and Johnson have been offered, we just haven't heard it yet. Johnson is a very good player so I don't see why Texas wouldn't offer him (other then maybe grades or something). Johnson also fills a position of need. I don't think there's any way Texas wouldn't offer him, but I've seen crazier things happen in recruiting.
