Charlie Strong is intense. Texas football has lost it's edge. He remedies that IMO.

During the halftime of the UH Vandy game, Trevor Matich spent half the time talking about Strong and Texas.

I listened to his show yesterday and he said it's the best hire we could make.

Missed it. What did he say?

That's a TBD, but he's definitely got the resume and respect from his peers to make a successful culture change.

I am sure that the edge will be back, and so will other things that were lacking, with overall team strength and speed. Most of all I think the team will be more disciplined on and off the field....God knows Daje is a talent, but that kid needs to learn to focus..he also needs the ball. Hopefully Strong gets both of those goals accomplished.

If Saben went 6-6 you guys would be ready to sign him to an extension and site that the talent wasn't there..

If he goes 6-6 next year see how much he is loved-
He may go 6-6 next year but this team needs to be rebuilt. None of us will be happy with 6-6 or 7-5 but it may take more than one off season to get the entitlement and softness out of the program.

Strong wasn't my first or even my third choice but he's been a part of some pretty hard nosed football teams. Let's get behind him and see what happens.

Or he might go 12-1 and be heading into the playoffs like Malzahn did. Though we clearly have a QB problem. We have talented RB's, WR's, OL's, DL's, and DB's.

Next year could be rough record wise. When a coach changes the culture, there are always those players that are going to rebel against somebody changing the status quo. It could take some time for the players to understand that there is a new sheriff. I hope he takes the squad to Junction, figuratively, and finds out who wants to pay the price. Those will be our guys going forward.

What was Saban's first year record at Bama? 7-6? It may take a year, but we'll be fine with Strong.
Yep, and even even managed to lose to Louisiana-Monroe.

However we will have plenty of "fans" ready to jump off cliffs if that happened.

We are pretty bare and/or young at very key positions.

WTH, guys....we derped out way to 8-5 this year with a noodle armed QB and an HC who couldn't find the men's room.

I'll not calling an MNC season, but have a little faith. There's talent on this team. They just need to get a kick in the pants.

One of the guys on Fox Sports1 was saying Strong's first year at Louisville, he had basically a boot camp the first spring to see who really wanted to play. Was tough on the players, but it got rid of those not willing to pay the price.
