How have they looked this year? I know their ranks aren’t that high and I haven’t seen any tape to judge. Anyone know?

Well won't say wrong but their first for all.
Now that scholarships aren’t really an issue anymore, it might be a no-lose situation (other than lowering our recruiting score). If they develop like Flood thinks they can then it’s a home run. Otherwise, we can still recruit more
Oline without being hindered by scholly limits.

I think once the settlement is approved the SEC will have to conform. So maybe by 2026 it’ll be 105 scholarships. That’ll give programs the ability to take a couple flyers every year.

I think Flood saw what he needed to see from the Coleman brothers. There was something there he really liked.

I think the settlement only applies to the NCAA being unable to set limits. Conferences have been establishing their own limits for scholarships per sport.

I don't know all the legality behind it but think of it this way, no one can require that Texas give out 85 football scholarships. They could decide on their own volition to give 0. Now apply this to a conference at large, they can determine how many scholarships to give out or not. The only legally problematic issue here could be collusion, as in the member schools of the conference are colluding together to limit scholarship numbers.

It’ll all probably be contracts and salary caps soon enough - ugh

My understanding of the settlement (very cursory) is that since the players become employees of the university that the walk on programs would be eliminated.

I don't know all the legal wrangling going on for 2025, but it's hard to imagine the richest conference in the country would set an 85 limit if other conferences were going to set 105 limits.

For smaller schools the revenue sharing and increased scholarship limits will create significant financial heartships, for schools like Texas it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Perhaps the ncaa and SEC are delaying things as they figure out how to make this work across all of college football.
