Joe Brady LSU PGC  hired January 26
 
Graham Harrell USC OC hired January 29

So these 3 guys are available for late hiring moves!!!

I totally get that. I also understand that if you Wait too long the right one will take another opening. I’ve been on both sides of this situation. That hand shake doesn’t mean a thing. 
leads me to believe that things are a lot more advanced than some believe. Maybe already secured, just waiting to announce. 

I agree with the last part. Just can not believe that Herman or CDC would let things spin out of control at such a critical time. I believe they are pretty sure who is signing next Wednesday and will have everything set for a strong push to finish the class on NSD2

I can understand your concern. The problem is were not only competing with other schools for coordinators,but were also competing against possible head coach positions. 
 
In three weeks the NFL will have bloody Monday and the NFL will start taking college coaches which will open up new jobs. That's why I believe Harrell is waiting, so he can see if anymore head coach positions are available.

This is a really good point that I had not thought of before now. Not sure its a factor but it makes sense. Also would be less likely at that point to lose someone we had just hired. Hard to know with so little hard facts coming out. Difficult as a fan but refreshing from a professionalism point of view.

My thoughts  are any OC who is considered an up and comer should just wait as the risk of being one and done are to great plus he will not get total control of the offense. I just think Tom will not want to be outshined.  I still remember the two Coaches we hired from Tulsa that were the Coaches who could run Art Briles offense  as if it was Art himself.  one and done for both plus that one year took a lot of shine off each . The OC said it was a decision he would not repeat again  if I remember correctly.

I may be wrong but I don't think the comparisons between Herman and Strong are as accurate as being made out. Barring some unforeseen disaster, I believe Herman will have a long run as HC at Texas. Add to that the truth that most coaches are arrogant enough to believe they can fix anything, I would think that many up and coming coordinators would jump at the chance to fill that role at Texas.

I'd rather just TH take over play calling duties than have Beck do it again. Biggest thing we need though is for Hand to get the OLine in better shape. That 4th and 1 where we put Sam under center and still couldn't move the pile said a lot to me. Sr. center needs to be able to beat his man.

You’re saying that 9 sacks resulted because play calling was predictable?  If so I disagree.
