A friend of mine works for the athletic department (not football) said the house was cleaned yesterday. Several football staff and assistants were told that they would no longer have a job after this season. Looks like the wheels are gaining traction.

It could just be the downsizing that we've already heard about and not an indication of regime change. Regardless, it's a good thing.

My Christmas wish is to have Nick Voinis and Bill Little replaced with competent people.
I think Voinis is a prick, but Bill Little is a great guy who I have known well for decades. he is very competent, but his failing with message board folks is his unwavering loyalty to his boss and his spin to try to make his boss look good. that is his job, and in my opinion, he does not deserve the personal attacks he gets.

I agree with this. I feel many fans have just reached a point where they are tired of being told it's raining when they know they're getting pissed on. Overall I like Bill too. But I am ready for wholesale changes within the Athletic Department.

" the wheels on the bus go round and round........"

Sorry to hear folks loosing their jobs in this job climate but sounds like we have been staff top heavy for a while inside Belmont.

As noted above, am very much hoping Maddog was one of the football staffers/assistants given the news......along with Chambers and Plonsky.

I haven't heard of any downsizing..I guess I am out of the loop.
Well I think I'm just interpreting a few things so you're probably right. I've heard several complaints that our AD is way too big. Like gigantically overstaffed. I figured in reading/hearing aobut that that it would be a priority to tackle it. It should also be a priority to just tackle.

This makes sense and doesn't surprise me. Little doesn't come off like a bad guy but exactly the way you described it.

jim carney doesnt have a lot of fans either. its one thing to spin, but its another to look down your nose.

Bill Little is the nicest guy ever. Met him once at a function and he's just a good ole boy. Too bad he's tasked with writing the post mortems.

I could see changes happening within the AD, but as for football assistants and people such as Mad Dog, I am pretty sure that will be left up to the new HC.

Bill Little is a nice man. One off-season afternoon a couple of years ago, I had taken my then 4 year old son to see the stadium. We were invited into the trophy room by what seemed to be a student worker. While I was showing my son the spoils of Longhorn lore, Mr. Little came out and spoke to us for a few moments. We were strangers, but he took the time to come out and speak to a 4 year old in a little #12 jersey. That made an impression on me and I've always appreciated him for that. He is simply doing his job. Can you blame him? Perhaps he's loyal to a fault, but he loves Longhorn football and he is a gentleman.

Plonsky needs to be fired yesterday. If she makes it through the downsizing, I will have no hope for the future of our AD.
