Cherry exit? (The Chexit)

Anwar Richardson of OB and Brian Davis the Austin American Satesman are reporting that it is outside influences that are pushing Cherry to transfer giving him bad advice after bad practices telling him "I told you so" so and that he shouldn't have left for Texas.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it's his father

That third part... That could hurt recruiting. It depends what it is that made Cecil upset during fall camp. Whatever it is could be scary for Florida recruiting.
Shemar Smith doesn't seem to care.

Sounds to me like Cherry talked a big game but is a softie. Got yelled at a few times in practice and couldn't handle it. Either way, I wish the kid luck. Sometimes it doesn't work it for whatever reason.

That makes it sound like a done deal.

And, on top of this, I was reading another site and one of the mods indicated that there was a non-true freshman who is quite unhappy right now with things. Said he played offense. Just passing that along.
I'm betting it was an upperclassman who has lost his job to a freshman.  Finessin' anyone?

Article out from Brian Davis/AAS  http://longhorns.blog.statesman.com/2015/08/11/father-texas-lb-cecil-cherry-has-asked-for-transfer-paperwork/

---

Cherry’s father told the American-Statesman that Cecil asked for transfer paperwork on Monday. Winston Cherry said he left another voicemail with coach Charlie Strong on Tuesday morning, and he expects Cecil to fly home to Florida on Saturday.

---

“I told Cecil this morning, wherever you try to go, this is going to have to be your home,†Winston Cherry said. “No matter where he goes, I told him, ‘You’re going to have to sit out.’ What he has to understand whatever we choose at this point, it has to be someone that has your best interest at heart.

“We’re not saying Texas is not a bad school. But it’s not designed for his style of defense.â€

When asked what defense fits Cecil’s style, Winston Cherry said that most offensive teams spread the field.

When asked to clarify what that means, Winston Cherry said, “I’m quite sure Texas isn’t hurt by this whatsoever. They got Malik (Jefferson) and other ballplayers. That’s how I feel about it. It’s no offense against Texas. This thing about his dream, now you have to live your dream and you woke up.â€

In the first few days of practice, Texas linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary got on Cecil Cherry’s case several times. “I guess at this point, him and coach Strong aren’t getting along,†Winston Cherry said.

----------

From talking with Cherry’s father, it’s clear that Cecil’s decision to pick Texas over Tennessee strained their relationship. Winston Cherry said the two didn’t speak for two months.

He's been in summer school and apparently the summer semester ends this week.

Dropping out today would mean he wouldn't get credit for the very last week.

So, he may have actually been there.

I'll quote Mike Singletary lol.

"I'd rather play with 10 people and just get penalized all the way until we have to do something else rather than play with 11 when I know that right now that person is not sold out to be a part of this team,". "It is more about them than it is about the team. Cannot play with them, cannot win with them, cannot coach with them. Can't do it. I want winners. I want people that want to win."
