...ok mcphaul, it has to a bit agitating... obtaining the same queries over an over again regarding "nick roll/tide saban." Therefore, please allow me the honor of presenting this query in a new form...
...what are you hearing in regards to "nick roll/tide saban's" wife? does this lady really want to uproot and venture over to texas?. what does she feel about his advanced age in relation to any prospective new coaching venture elsewhere?

Yes, she would. Her grandchild will be in Austin.

...people in alabama are constantly referring to "mrs. terry" being the model "tuscaloosian", and that she would never leave their quaint town... is this sentiment true?

I think they said the same thing about Mrs. Francione?

...or is she house shopping in austin due to the simple fact that she is ruthless, hyper ambitious, and a bit on the sneaky side... what gives?
Her daughter/family like the Austin area.

Look, Nick wanted the job but, the Texas selection team leading the charge is/has screwed it up. I'm hearing that Saban is not happy with how the Hicks brothers conduct a coaching search & hire. Saban is not happy that everyone thing has become public knowledge.

I suggest the Hicks brothers send some flowers and make things right. If they botched the Saban to Texas deal.................... &$&**(^(^(&*^()^$

Is this a game changer? Should we be pissed at the Hicks brothers?

Honestly I think that Saban has ALL of the negotiation chips at this point which is bad place to be negotiating from if you're UT.

I think we need to be looking at Plan B and let it be known to Nick we are looking at Plan B. If he aint coming it's better to find out now then in January then you ARE stuck with Mack Brown for '14!

How about Plan A, Art Briles? Any chance we get him? I know you think he's going to aggy but what if Sumlin stays put?

All of the NFL guys that are being tossed around like Tomlin and Gruden seem like horrible choices. Why would they even be considered?

Nick wanted the job as in he's moved on from a possibility? I hate past tense.
I don't think so. Could be a negotiation ploy for our guys to shut the hell up and come correct. I would expect Patterson to be the middle man going forward interfacing with Sexton & Saban as opposed to the Chinese Fire Drill that has previously been taking place

I'm not big on the NFL coaching prospects either. If Saban is not the guy we need to go leadfoot on Urban Meyer or Art Briles.

I don't! Saban lost his ass on Bama business deals. He may need us as much as we need him.

This is the only logical response. The only real person that can be the true mediator is steve patterson. I was one concerned about this hire but now given his experience, I hope he makes this happen.

I heard him speak on a few occasions and the dude is pure class. If him and Saban are as close as we hear, Patterson can smooth the deal over. My fear is if we do not get Saban we will get a 2nd tier coach.

If the folks in charge on both sides want the saben to Austin deal to happen then why can't they seem to be on the same page about what gets leaked and what doesn't. I ask because I can't imagine this is the way saben wants this progressing

Is it going to take two conference losses before Baylor, eliminating us from any chance at conference title, for Mack to relinquish thoughts on returning next year?

Darrell, how did Wallace Hall ever get involved back in round one of the Saban discussions last year? What were our guys thinking at that point? This thing would still be essentially under the radar from a major media perspective if Hall had not leaked all the info about the first go round trying to gain an advantage in his impeachment hearings. I just can't figure out what that guy brought to the table that warranted his inclusion in anything.

At the time, he was not as unpopular as he is now? Evidently Hicks thought having a BOR (Hall) involved in the talks with Sexton made it appear like he had all the stroke needed to get the deal done. Technically he did. However, since it has now become a media circus surrounding Saban & the Hall deal most likely going to bring more press, Saban is very frustrated with our inability to pull this off in a professional manner.

McPhaul,

With all the talk of a potential UT/Norte Dame series on Thanksgiving, do you think Patterson threatening Swarbick with a lawsuit when ND pulled out of there game next year will affect any potential negotiations?

I always assumed that was a liberal sided show...am I wrong?

What does potential political slant have to do with it being a good show or not when the show isn't focused on political ideology?

Jesus Christ.

How in the hell a school that is supposed to be the 800 lb gorilla and is as loaded as UT is, could manage to screw something like this up, by not being professional is simply amazing.
