Charlie Strong Press Conference - 08/18/15

I love hearing all the stuff regarding team unity and attitude. Those are things that you can't coach yet are essential for success. Also the stuff concerning Swoopes' attitude change is huge. We'll see how he carries himself on the field but that has always been my biggest criticism of him. A Qb needs to exhibit confidence and be a leader on the field. Too many times last year Swoopes left the field with his head down and found a spot on the sideline by himself to hang his head.

Says Charlie... "I'm just surprised about how much energy we've had."

The main reason I'm high on winning the opener at South Bend, and then making a run to 6-0 through the OU game: the energy this team is going to bring on the field on every down.

Every second of every play, every tick of the clock between plays. On the field and on the sidelines.

You watch. With the conditioning and athleticism...just you watch.

An x-factor to stir the pot to boiling is the attitude of first year players, making a statement.

Charlie Strong seemed more upbeat and confident in the presser, which is a surprise to me and I'm excited about it.

Get the Kool-Aid box out.

Sounds like it's the freshman class is having a big effect on the team. This looks to me like the best group of freshman since Vince Young's 2002 class.

If Charlie's excited..We definitely should be
It's hard not get excited when the Head Coach is more relaxed and upbeat and has more confidence and excitment in his presser. Part of that is most definitely a product of having a year underhis belt and having a better understanding of the program and the team. I hope another factor is that he has a group of guys that is much more of a 'team' than he had last year. Like I mentioned earlier, I like hiw the consensus from the staff and players is that there has been a lot of intensity and effort, the qbs seem to be developing with good competition, and we have guys that compete with swagger. I'm drinking the Kool-aid. Hopefully all these things lead to a good game in South Bend

Pass the Kool-aid this way. Cheers ðŸ»ðŸ»

i'm not going to get too excited until i see the product on the field.  the way we played the last two games was extremely embarrassing; surrounded by all those hog fans; my worst nightmare.

To be realistic..Im not expecting a miracle season, like Auburn 2 years ago..I am expecting a new attitude and toughness that we haven't seen since 05
