In the initial CFP rankings, Texas comes in ranked #5 & also the 5th seed in the playoff bracket. As of today, we'd play Bama (seeded 11th) at home in the 1st round. CFP committee predicts uga to win the SEC...thoughts?

We're lined up to meet Miami after we beat Bama. I think we might have the easiest path in the first two rounds.

Is anyone able to confirm which teams go to Atlanta in this scenario to finish the regular season?

10-2 Ole Miss
10-2 UGA/Tenn (2 different outcomes depending on winner of this game)
10-2 Texas
10-2 aggy
10-2 Bama

If we hold L's to UGA and aggy in this situation (regardless of the outcome of UGA/tenn), im pretty sure we're still left out right?

Im stuck in the middle on this one. On the one hand, I want the SECCG win, but some time off could be great for the team before the playoff games start.

Best case scenario - win the SEC Championship game
Next - take a regular season loss and miss the SEC Championship
Worst - Loss the SEC championship game

That depends. You have aggy beatinig Texas and finishing 10-2. Thats not really possible since we're going to spank their ass in dead dog town.

Right now, the game with Pig scares me a bit more than the game with aggy.

Aggy game will have a good representation of Texas fans. Not so in Fayett Nam.

Next 3 games are must for us. Alabama beat Ole Miss& Ga. Ole miss beat Ga.& Tenn. beat bama. Arky beat Tn,Kentucky beat Ole MissOur best quality win is over Michigan, which we realize is average now.

If Texas wins out they will at least be #2 going into CCG week. I think Ohio St will struggle against Indiana.

Buckeyes have the easiest path
Indiana is the highest scoring team in the B10 by far. 82 points differential overall, 439 to Oregon's 357. In conference its 279 to Oregon's 247. Ohio St has 190 points in conference.
I'm not saying Indiana beats Ohio St., but it isn't a gimme.

That 5 seed is going to be relatively inticing.

I still think it's better to land a top 4 seed and a bye (especially because that also comes with the hardware of a conference championship) but the 5 seed is a nice consolation prize.

I dont think Ohio State is that good either. The entire Big 10 is suspect to me but then again im biased. Indiana beat Michigan by 5. We beat Michigan by 19 which could have easily been by 30 and thats was before they were demoralized for the year. My reference to the easiest path was based on Miami, this year's FSU.

Maybe its the homer in me but IMO OSU and Indiana are all "untested". Yea Oregon beat OSU by 7 but even 2 decent teams can beat each other by 7. You could say that about any of the teams in the Big 10. I guess the real question is can they beat Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee etc if the SEC team played a Georgia type of game like they had vs Texas. Sure we know OSU beat Penn State but exactly how much is that worth if Penn State is overrated? Again im a homer but I think the SEC will beat any of the Big 10 teams.

I guess you can say the same about Texas. Our best win doesnt look that great but Ill take Texas if we meet Georgia again. We didnt look good but we are much better than we showed that game. Overall the SEC is a much tougher conference. Almost every game is a throw down even vs the middle of the tier teams. The Big 10 is like a stroll in the park. I might be wrong but based on I have seen the Big 10 does not impress me.

If teams played to their expectations and potential, here's my top 7 teams ranking:

  1. Texas
  2. Ole Miss
  3. Oregon
  4. Alabama
  5. Georgia
  6. Tennessee
  7. Ohio St
Smart and Deboer are the top two coaches in College FB to me with Ryan Day, Lanning and Sark right behind.

If I'm Texas, I'd want to avoid Alabama and Georgia. I haven't seen Sark beat a coach that's a better gameday coach than him. He will one day and I'm thinking that day comes this year.

Sark beat Saban last year and should have won the year before ;)

Fair on Saban but he still hasn’t beaten DeBoer or Smart with arguably more talented teams than those two coaches had. So he hasn’t beaten any current coach that’s a better gameday coach than him.

Really....nice write up but I think it is all bullshit.
I will never believe Sark is inferior to either of those guys.
