I'm looking forward to hearing what Watson plans to do to the offense given Swoopes different strengths (vis a vis Ash).

I'm hoping he also goes into thoughts on the OLine and how close he is to settling on a rotation. Also, I'd like to know just how much better he thinks the line will get with the addition of Harrison.

I don't think you can read anything into it.  I doubt that any of these guys are excited that Swoopes is in, rather than Ash, under these circumstances.  However, you play the cards you are dealt, and fans saw Swoopes play in the Spring Game.  These guys have been around him up close, sometimes 24/7, and they know what he is capable of.

I think Ship has confidence in Swoopes and is expressing that.  Good for him.

Some impressions from Tuesday night:

- We heard from Shawn Watson, Jaxon Shipley, Johnathan Gray, Hassan Ridgeway & MJ McFarland 

- A Twitter follower asked me if I though Jaxon Shipley was being completely honest when he told us that revenge isn't a factor in Saturday's game. I actually had to debate it in my head...that should tell you a lot right off the bat. My eventual response was that it is easier for Jaxon to say that because he plays offense, but when they roll gametape in the locker room before Saturday's game, these guys will come out of the tunnel looking for revenge.

- Watson was very deliberate in comparing how he handled Teddy Bridgewater in Year 1 to what he needs to do with Swoopes, " I'm not going to ask him to do what I did with [former Louisville QB] Teddy [bridgewater] last year. In fact, it'll be very similar to what I did with Teddy year one."

- Espinosa, Perkins and Swaim were the only 3 blockers that Watson singled out as having good games against UNT.

- Watson had lots of praise for Jake Raulerson. It sounded to me like it's a good thing that Wickline, Watson & Raulerson knew so early in the week that Jake would play Center. "Jake [Raulerson] has taken a great sense of responsibility on and making sure everybody's on the same page. They're watching film together, they're communicating in the room together. Jake knows he's got to captain those things and making sure the communication is up and down the line."

- Watson would not name a starting 5 on the OL, saying that they all needed a good week of practice and then they'd see where they're at.

- I've spent time around most of the team, but it still catches me off guard how large Hassan Ridgeway is. He is a massive human being.

- Johnathan Gray was quoting the party line when talking about Swoopes, but when he talked about playing after being injured, his eyes lit up, "I felt great. It felt great just to be back with my team and run around with those guys..."

- I'll wrap this up with the 3 most interesting things I heard tonight:

1. "He [Tyrone Swoopes] allows us to do some things we couldn't or wouldn't have done with David [Ash] that we actually have in our package, so we'll be able to open up some of that stuff."
2. "...we're not giving anything up in arm strength, ball speed..."
   
3. "Heard is progressing still. I don't anticipate him playing at all."

Wow! #1 really jumps off the page. I'm glad they are planning on utilizing him in ways that we didn't see against UNT!

Last week Bedford got all riled up and delivered a speech about the crowd and the UNT game. I'm interested to see if he has more of the same fire this week.
