SignUp Now!very real! it's one of southwest's UT themed planes. Is that real? If so very cool!

Like my comments on the other thread about not changing the UT helmets we should not mess with SWA airplanes classic scheme...wait it's just a plane. Do whatever the hell you want SWA.You beat me to it J.B!![]()
The Longhorn emblem looks to be photoshopped ... look at the nose of the Longhorn. It is clearly on the nacelle of the left turbofan. The emblem then wraps up onto the main body of the jet as if it were on the same surface as the body. Reference the left quarter-front view of the same jet below to see how far the turbofan nacelle actually is away from the airliner body. Obviously it is no more photoshopped that some of our nature photographs with outsized moons and such. I do seem to remember Southwest having some airliners with all orange paint jobs like that though. I sure wouldn't mind flying on one with a big ol' Longhorn emblem like that. Like the helmet on the other thread, I sure wouldn't mind them trying a metallic finish in a deeper burnt orange ... that would be kewl!![]()
Perhaps, but the paint job on that particular jet is not real. As J.B. indicated, the easiest way to tell is to open the jpg in photoshop and look closely at the edges of the top of the orange fuselage, or the wings, or the tail ... heck, you don't even need to zoom in, I can see the ragged editing job done with whatever image editing software that was used, even with my foggy eyeballs. Also, the emblem defies the physics of the surface of the left turbofan nacelle and the surface of the body of the plane. Zoom in in photoshop for a good close look.
the plane is real!
You verged on almost getting cranky there for a second, Mike!Like my comments on the other thread about not changing the UT helmets we should not mess with SWA airplanes classic scheme...wait it's just a plane. Do whatever the hell you want SWA.
