Briles will end up at LSU

i would be extremely reluctant to hire briles.  what nobody knows yet is the impact this would have on his ability to recruit.  he's stinky poo-poo and may forever be a shadow of who he could have been.  had he had any moral fiber to speak of, of course.  pity, really.

edit:  things happening now with respect to how things were going a little back suggests to me that he had a deal worked out somewhere but it evaporated.  that may be his future.  somebody no better than him tries to bring him in until they assess the impact.  that program would never have had the microscopes on it that they would have after bringing him in.  all those little things they've skated on?  gone with the winned.

edit edit:  also briles?  the man couldn't poot without somebody holding up a number card.  his day of weaseling around the edges would be gone.  how good is he without all that?  without the talent he might have had?  do i want my program until the microscope for a coach without his favorite toys?  dunno about that.

So let's say you guys are correct about Briles being so tainted that he most probably will never earn his way back into P5 status. Add that to the statement that Briles hired Sexton. Is the recent Briles coverage in the media a function of Sexton attempting to create a sense of acceptance of and a demand for Briles' services?

If he really loves to coach I say he applies for the head position at one of the service academies. Granted they would probably never accept him but if they did he would not have access to the best recruits and would be working with an administration that demanded he be on the straight and narrow. But that is assuming he really wants to coach. I have come to believe that he is a good offensive coach who understands that if he can find a university that will allow him to recruit the unrecruitable player he will ultimately have a competitive advantage against those in his conference. He doesn't want to coach. He wants to win, at any cost.

Briles would fit the nfl fine. The league is equally guilty of pandering slime to the masses. They would deserve each other.

I disagree. I think Briles loves the college game and will be back next year. Someone will hire him.

IMO, unfortunately, the all-mighty dollar is the center of today's morals. The apology he issued on ESPN was enough for many folks to say he deserves a second chance. We appear to be a very forgiving nation when in reality we just have fewer people really bothered by what he did.

Mark my words. . . at some point this man will get a standing ovation. And we'll all want to pull our hair out.

That and Bobby Petrino cheated on his wife and is still coaching in the FBS with a Top 10 team.

Briles will likely FIRST get a small time job, then he'll be back in the Power 5 conference with a contract that has many outs for the school.

I hate to agree with this take, but I'm afraid that you're right. I don't know how the administration at baylor sleeps at night, but they covered themselves well with the oral presentation and as long as details don't get out, that piece of s*@t will be coaching and making big money again.

I don't think his offense or one like it has ever worked well in the NFL.
I totally agree

Maybe Cleveland will hire him in attempt to see if he is the RG3 Whisperer.

Hope to god this doesnt happen... Him having a direct line into Houston is not good.

I think it will be hard for Briles to Recruit at his previous level of success. He won't be welcome in many living rooms. I think that is why he has been around Pro teams lately.

Now.....Herman to LSU can be something serious.
