Sources tell Horns247 that TCU co-OC Sonny Cumbie has decided to remain at TCU. Cumbie interviewed and was offered the Texas OC job earlier this week.

All signs point to Sterlin Gilbert.

ANOTHER BAD DAY FOR INSIDERS..

Did anyone ever think 10 years ago, we wouldnt be able to pull a staff coach from TCU with a hefty raise?

SMH, sad state of affairs.
What about 20 years ago? My point is that Texas wasn't always the Texas of the Mack Brown era. College football comes in cycles and as fans we can't have a sense of entitlement.

but but "We are Texas"  ;)

Cumbie - We are TCU?

All kidding aside.

Baylor and TCU were perennial door mats for years, begging for respect and recruits.

Its pretty ironic now isnt?

Just a few quotes from various TCU posters.

As if 50-7 wasn't enough. Geesh

WRTS?

But but but....they're TEXAS!

Hard to believe UT couldn't get the copter issue sorted out in time.

Excellent news. Texas feels entitled, let's see how their fans spin this one.

Haha bet the UT boosters aren't used to being rejected. All the $$$ in the world and still can't get one of our coaches to go work for them.

Just shows you what kind of program GMFP is running. There are far more important things that factor into a decision like this than just money.
Frog on Earth likes this

The meltdown from UT is going to be hilarious. They're already chirping that he wasn't good enough, they didn't really want him, etc.  I bet this becomes 'we pulled the offer" within the hour.

And we continue to be the joke...

IMO Cumbie made a smart decision. I had rather have Gilbert at least he calls plays.  Cumbie made his rep. on Boykin's development, see how next QB turns out.

Gilbert due to coaching at Texas HS'S should recruit lites out. Then he may turn the job down.
